MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Aug. 29.

* On Aug. 28, one of the owners of Worthington Farms reported a large amount of produce was stolen from their roadside stand on Ohio 60 near Riverview Road in Adams Township. In addition to stealing courgettes, watermelons, peppers and tomatoes, the suspect(s) unsuccessfully attempted to pry open the stand’s cash box. The value of the stolen produce is between $75 and $100.

* On Aug. 28, Deputy Sheriff White responded to the scene of an altercation in the parking lot of IGA in Newport. What initially was an argument between Sherry Van Pelt, 56, 5715 Serene Drive, Beaumont, Texas, and her son’s fiancee escalated to the point where both women were shoving each other. Neither of the involved parties desired to pursue charges against the other.

* On Aug. 28, Sgt. Reeder requested a summons for Amanda M. Montano, 33, 2317 Oak St., Parkersburg, for telecommunications harassment. Despite being asked previously to not contact the 32-year-old victim, Montano phoned the victim 19 times since Aug. 20. In one call, Montano threatened to assault the victim, causing her to fear enough for her safety that she left her home with her daughter to stay at a relative’s home for an evening.

* Timothy Marrell Conner, 27, 366 E. 222nd St., Cleveland, was arrested for theft, forgery and receiving stolen property, all felonies. Conner was arrested on Orchard Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 28 at 11:17 p.m.

* Erin Kathleen Martin, 39, 3623 Packard St. Apt. 48, Parkersburg, was arrested for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Martin was arrested on Acme Street by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 29 at 12:27 a.m.

* Daniel Scott Metz, 43, 101 Allen St., Little Hocking, was arrested for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 29 at 10:57 a.m.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Aug. 27.

* On Aug. 22, Lt. Rhodes and Detective Smeeks responded to the scene of death of a 69-year-old Warren Township resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

* On Aug. 25, Lt. Stackpole responded to a domestic dispute at the home of Alford Wilson, 62, at 427 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre. Wilson admitted being involved in an argument with his wife over marital issues but said no physical violence occurred. Wilson’s wife agreed, stating that this type of incident occurs fairly often as they are trying to work through issues. Based on his investigation, Lt. Stackpole closed this case as unfounded.

* On Aug. 25, Deputy Sheriff Huffer and Detective Parks responded to the scene of death of a 71-year-old Marietta Township resident. The man was found pinned under his riding mower on a steep slope on his property. The emergency room physician said the cause of the man’s death could have been cardiac-related but she was not certain. No foul play is suspected.

* On Aug. 26, Deputy Sheriff McPeek and the Warren Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the residence of William E. Hague, 35, at 370 Lang Farm Road, Marietta. Hague had just parked his 2003 Chevy Silverado and was feeding his animals when his neighbor ran to him and informed him the vehicle was on fire. The vehicle was engulfed in flames but quickly extinguished by the fire department. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature.

* On Aug. 26, Deputy Sheriff Huffer requested summonses for Donald Bartimus Jr., 34, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, and his wife Katherine, 33, for theft. While Donald Bartimus filled out a DVD rental form at Par Mar at 8600 Ohio 339, Vincent, surveillance video showed his wife stepping behind the counter and placing two or three packs of cigarettes in her purse. Thereafter, Donald Bartimus can be seen placing a Five Hour Energy drink in his pocket before paying for a DVD rental. Donald Bartimus was initially vague when asked about stealing anything, stating that he and his wife were high on Xanax at the time. He later admitted he and his wife stole the items.

* On Aug. 26, Sean C. Schwendeman, 44, 4725 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, reported he believes a relative may have stolen his recently filled prescription medication. Schwendeman was unsure if the relative actually took his medication so he declined to pursue the matter further.

* Talon Daniel Feucht, 20, 843 Greene St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation and for four counts of contributing to the delinquency-unruliness of a minor, all misdemeanors. Feucht was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 26 at 10:03 a.m.

* Jeremy Ray Collins, 32, 1713 Staunton Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, for not wearing a seat belt and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Collins was arrested near milepost three on Ohio 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 26 at 2:22 p.m.

* Vickie Marie Thompson, 31, 111 W. Montgomery St., Lot 10, Marietta, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Thompson was picked up at the Ohio Reformatory for Women and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 26 at 3:32 p.m.

* Joseph Richard Fox, 34, 215 1/2 Second St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Fox was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 26 at 4:27 p.m.

* Dennis Ray Oakley, 33, 110 Browns Alley, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Oakley was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 26 at 9:39 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Aug. 28.

* On Aug. 26, the Warren Volunteer Fire Department transported Phillip Casto, 67, 3290 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a laceration on his right wrist. Casto was moving bags of concrete mix in the front loader of his tractor when his tractor began to coast backward down a hill. Unable to press the tractor’s brake, Casto cut the steering wheel to avoid striking a fence. That action caused the tractor to roll onto its side. Casto did not suffer any serious injuries.

* On Aug. 26, a 33-year-old Marietta resident reported another student gave her 14-year-old son prescription pills while riding the school bus home from Frontier High School. The teenager confirmed that for the past two days two students gave him pills that they said were muscle relaxers. This case remains under investigation.

* On Aug. 27, Daryl Vandale, 64, 605 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, reported he was recently informed that another individual used his personal information to file an Ohio state income tax return. This case remains under investigation.

* On Aug. 27, Lt. Rhodes arrested David C. Houck, 21, 710 Old Sweeney Farm Road, Pineville, W.Va., for operating a vehicle while intoxicate and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. First noticing that Houck was traveling 48 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 77, Lt. Rhodes stopped Houck near milepost thirteen for driving outside his lane of travel. Lt. Rhodes observed that Houck’s eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred. Houck was also slow to respond to questions and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Inside Houck’s vehicle, Lt. Rhodes discovered a smoking device along with packages of herbal incense. Houck claimed he used the device to burn incense and denied using it to ingest any incense products. He was processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 27 at 11:27 p.m.

* Darla Sue Dunfee, 41, 713 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Dunfee was picked up in Belmont by Deputy Sheriff Ellenwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 28 at 1:55 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Aug. 25:

* On Aug. 22, Theodore Hoffert, 53, 15725 Ohio 821, Macksburg, reported Aug. 18 or Aug. 19 an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole between $5 and $10 in change.

* On Aug. 22, Leonard Wiggins, 88, 830 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, was walking his dog along Mill Branch Road when a neighbor’s pit bull-type dog charged at him and attacked him and his dog. Wiggins suffered minor wounds to both hands and received treatment at the Marietta Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Belpre. Wiggins’ dog received veterinary treatment for injuries suffered in the attack. The dog’s caretaker, Sharon J. House, 53, 764 Mill Branch Road, said she let the dog outside and it immediately charged at Wiggins. House was eventually able to restrain her dog and placed it inside her home. For her actions, House will be issued a summons to appear in court for failing to confine/restrain a dog.

* On Aug. 23, Charles M. Wasson, 85, 107 Wyandotte Road, Marietta, reported he recently discovered a chain pulley was stolen from a barn on property he owns at 14330 Ohio 821, Macksburg.

* On Aug. 23, Bessie Schofield, 72, 309 Simpson St., Marietta, reported she believes a family member stole 25 pills from a prescription medication bottle in her bedroom.

* Steven Joe Francis, 21, 2134 Washington Blvd. Lot 1, Belpre, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of breach of recognizance and being in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, in Marietta Municipal Court by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 11:08 a.m.

* Nathaniel Ross Stevens, 25, 397 Roberts Drive, Belpre, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation at the office of his probation officer and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 11:11 a.m.

* William Lewis Campbell, 25, 541 Main St., Malta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation at the office of his probation officer and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 11:30 a.m.

* Alpensie Lee Harris, 47, 929 Poplar St., Parkersburg, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of theft in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 3:34 p.m.

* Angel Beth Jackson, 32, 207 1/2 Florence St., Belpre, was arrested on two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear on Washington Boulevard by the Belpre City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 5:19 p.m.

* Joseph Hai Bui, 36, 700 Fourth St. Apt. C, New Matamoras, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of theft at his residence by the New Matamoras Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 6:09 p.m.

* Jeffrey Dwayne Smith, 19, 1779 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 10:20 p.m.

* Krystal Kay Carpenter, 34, 220 Pennsylvania Ave. Apt. 1, Marietta, was arrested on felony charges of illegal conveyance of items into a detention facility and possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under a suspended license, possession of drugs and failure to obey the right of way on Second Street by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 23 at 1:01 a.m.

* Dustin Alain Burwell, 25, 1420 Braun Road, Belpre, was arrested on a felony charge of obstruction of justice and a misdemeanor charge of interference with custody at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 23 at 10:04 a.m.

* Juan Navarez Nunez, 28, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 42, Marietta, was arrested on a charge of being an illegal alien and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 23 at 1:38 p.m.

* Paul Wesley Boling, 36, 319 McGill Road, Vincent, was arrested on a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 23 at 2:12 p.m.

* Robert Dale Goodnight Jr., 36, 1115 15th St., Parkersburg, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of theft and violating the terms of a protection order on Newbury Road in Little Hocking and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 23 at 11:14 p.m.

* James Ralph Cooke III, 51, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication on Greene Street by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 24 at 12:01 a.m.

* Erin Michelle Gandee, 31, 342 Damon Road, Waterford, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of using a weapon while intoxicated and two counts of child endangering at her residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 24 at 1:25 a.m.

* Jaime Machen-Salazar, 24, 540 College Parkway Apt. 104, Parkersburg, was arrested on charges of being an illegal alien, a felony count of forgery and misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without a license and driving on the wrong side of the roadway on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 24 at 4:03 a.m.

* Melody Ann Keene, 60, 610 Cutler St., Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 24 at 8:51 p.m.

* Christopher Lee Cheshire, 25, 821 Quincy Hill Road, Parkersburg, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business on George Street by the Belpre City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 25 at 12:28 a.m.

* Brittany Maria Martin, 28, 100A Linwood Ave., Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 25 at 2:07 a.m.

* Danielle Anne Dalton, 21, 1663 Lincoln Heights, Pomeroy, was arrested on a felony charge of violating the terms of her probation at the Adult Probation Office and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 25 at 11:26 a.m.

* Dustin Wade Slagle, 21, 4895 Meadowlark Drive, Lorain, Ohio, was arrested on a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation at the Adult Probation Office and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 25 at 1:46 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports August 22:

* On Aug. 21, a witness reported her neighbor’s 6 and 4-year-old children were left unattended. At 6:30 a.m. the 6-year-old knocked on the neighbor’s door and said she could not find her mother. The children’s mother, Misty G. Sealey, 36, 1421 McGill Road, Vincent, and her vehicle were nowhere to be seen when the deputy arrived at the residence. When Sealey arrived several hours later, she claimed she left her children in the care of a babysitter so she could run errands. However, the alleged babysitter said she was never asked to babysit that morning. In fact, the babysitter had text messages from Sealey that asked her to lie and say she was at the residence. Noticing that Sealey appeared disheveled and had a bar stamp on her hand, the deputy thought it was likely that Sealey had been gone for most of the evening. Consequently, Sealey was arrested for child endangering and obstructing official business and taken to the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 21, a deputy obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence of Carla Lutz, 62, and her daughter, Jennifer Lutz, 40, at 759 Sycamore St., Belpre. The floors inside the home were covered with human waste as well as urine and feces from the numerous cats and dogs. The responding deputy and humane officer noticed the animals were malnourished and had little or no food and water. Jennifer Lutz’s teenage son also lives at the residence but there were no dressers or beds or any other evidence of a child living there. Based on the investigation, Deputy summonses were requested for both Carla Lutz and Jennifer Lutz for child endangering, cruelty to animals and failure to register five dogs.

* On Aug. 21, a Belpre Township trustee reported unknown suspects disposed of between 16 and 20 bags of household garbage in four trash barrels at the Belpre Township Recreation Park. The responding deputy identified the suspect as Isabella N. Loiseau, 22, 3057 Newbury Road, Little Hocking. Under questioning, Loiseau admitted disposing of her trash at the park because her family recently moved and they had yet to get trash service. As a result, a summons was requested for Loiseau for littering on public property.

* Daniel Scott Metz, 43, 101 Allen St., Little Hocking, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of a protection order at the office of his probation officer and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 21 at 11:04 a.m.

* Misty Gail Sealey, 36, 1421 McGill Road, Vincent, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of child endangering and obstructing official business at her residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 21 at 12:08 p.m.

* Richard Douglas Anderson, 29, 46345 Groves Hill Road, Caldwell, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation in Marietta and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 21 at 3:41 p.m.

* Darren Craig Farnese, 20, 613 Eighth St., Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear in Macksburg and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 21 at 7:06 p.m.

* Joseph Eugene Carter Jr., 24, 106 Riley Drive Apt. 5, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence at his residence by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 2:21 a.m.

* AJ Powers Davis, 21, 4590 16th Street NE, Naples, Fla., was arrested on misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct by intoxication on Third Street by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 3:07 a.m.

* Kiah Marshae Morgan, 21, 1612 Hill St., Belpre, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication in Belpre by the Belpre City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 22 at 4:36 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Aug. 21.

* On Aug. 18, Deputy Sheriff Hunter issued a citation to Lynn D. Creighton, 52, 2640 S. Riverview Road, Stockport, for traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone on Ohio 60 near East Street in Lowell.

* On Aug. 18, Deputy Sheriff Hunter issued a citation to Elizabeth D. Hopp, 35, 3398 Waterford Road, Marietta, for not stopping at a stop sign when turning from Arends Ridge Road onto Ohio 60 in Muskingum Township.

* On Aug. 20, Deputy Sheriff Underwood requested a summons for a 14-year-old Lower Salem resident to appear in juvenile court on a charge of delinquency by underage possession of tobacco. The teenager was found in possession of smokeless tobacco during a morning assembly at Fort Frye High School and later found to also be in possession of an electronic cigarette.

* On Aug. 20, Deputy Sheriff Underwood arrested a 17-year-old Whipple resident for delinquency by domestic violence. During a disagreement with his grandmother, the teenager threw a book and hit his grandmother in the head and shoulder. The teenager stormed off and when he returned to where his grandmother was seated on the floor, he kicked her in the back and ribs on her left side.

* Joshua Simon Bennett, 35, 4512 N. Ohio 376 NW Apt. 113, McConnelsville, was arrested for gross sexual imposition, a felony. Bennett was picked up at the Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 11:41 a.m.

* Edward Ray Chancey, 55, 323 Oakwood Ave., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Chancey was arrested at the office of probation officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 12:01 p.m.

* Robert Eugene Boston Jr., 48, 1145 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Boston was arrested on Ohio 7 by probation officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 12:49 p.m.

* Michael Allen Bowers, 38, 4435 14th Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested for illegal manufacturing of drugs and for illegal assembly of drug-making chemicals, both felonies. Bowers was picked up in Salem, W.Va., by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 2:27 p.m.

* Stacey Lynn Mixer, 25, 2110 Miller Ave., Belpre, was arrested for two felony counts of violating the terms of her probation. Mixer turned herself in to Patrolman Nichols at the Belpre City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 4:50 p.m.

* Jeffrey Roger Gartrell, 41, 201 Jennison St., Beverly, was arrested for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Gartrell was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Sams of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 8:22 p.m.

* Charley Glenn Hutson, 37, Route 2, Box 264, Walker, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Hutson was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 10:53 p.m.

* James Paul Rush, 31, 1801 Pike St., Parkersburg, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Rush was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 11:03 p.m.

* Kimberly Nicole Dudley, 24, 907 14th St., Parkersburg, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Dudley was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 20 at 11:41 p.m.

* Patrick Corey Jackson, 35, 2301 Rockland Ave., Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 21 at 9:54 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Aug. 18:

* On Aug. 15, John D. O’Brien Jr., 32, 27335 State Route 7 Lot 1, Marietta, was cited on charges of driving under a suspended license and operating a vehicle with expired license plates.

* On Aug. 15, Hannah N. Beha, 20, 1103B 18th St., Apt. 3, Vienna, was cited for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired in June 2014.

* On Aug. 15, Alexis M. Madary, 36, 4220 Welch Road, Little Hocking, was cited for driving under a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired in February 2014.

* On Aug. 16, Kathryn K. Mugrage, 64, 110 Oak Drive, Little Hocking, reported sometime overnight her 2004 Ford Taurus was stolen from her son’s residence on Michaelis Road. The vehicle was later found wrecked and abandoned near mile marker 20.5 on State Route 550.

* On Aug. 16, Brandon M. Boling, 30, 24 Meadowbrook Acres, Parkersburg, was cited for driving under a suspended license.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Aug. 15-18:

* Anthony James Spurgeon, 29, 505 Ferguson St., Marietta, for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and misdemeanor charges of child endangering, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Spurgeon was arrested on Second Street in Marietta and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 15.

* Darrel Dean Lawrence, 23, 503 Ferguson St., Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawrence was arrested on Second Street in Marietta and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 15.

* Trista Adella Morris, 21, 915 Tenth Ave., Parkersburg, for operating a vehicle without a license and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Morris was arrested on State Route 7 by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 16.

* Donald Eugene Bartimus Jr., 34, 2342 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for failing to confine/restrain a dog, a misdemeanor. Bartimus was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 16.

* Robert James Wittekind, 56, 202 E. Faye Ave., Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Wittekind was arrested at his residence by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 16.

* Joel Anthony Snyder, 29, 4753 State Route 339, Vincent, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Snyder was arrested on Beach Drive in Belpre by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 17.

* Brandon Paul Hayes, 23, 101 Gilman Ave., Lot 1, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, failure to obey a traffic control device, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors. Hayes was arrested on Farson Street by the Belpre Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 17.

* Ruthie Dulcia Rhodes, 27, 330 Franklin St., Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Rhodes was arrested in Belpre and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 17.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Aug. 19:

* On Aug. 15, Carol S. Robinson, 44, 419 Main St., Waterford, reported an acquaintance who visited her home earlier in the evening may have stolen her recently filled prescription of oxycodone. Robinson declined to pursue the matter further.

* On Aug. 16, a deputy requested a warrant for Cyril C. Pletcher III, 35, 920 Schott Road, Waterford, for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Pletcher’s father loaned him a truck on Aug. 8 and he has ignored his father’s repeated requests to return the vehicle.

* On Aug. 16, a deputy and the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tractor fire on the property of Mayford Miller, 56, at 1114 Walsh Road, Vincent. Miller borrowed the tractor from a neighbor to mow his property and briefly left it unattended when it began to overheat. Thereafter, Miller observed dark smoke rising from where he parked the tractor. The fire was quickly extinguished with water and a fire extinguisher. The tractor sustained severe damage.

* On Aug. 16, Tonda M. Hockenberry, 46, 197 Fourth St., Lowell, reported an acquaintance who is living at a residence she owns at 48 Hollywood Drive, Belpre, sold items from an old church on the property without permission. Hockenberry said the suspect sold 12 pews, four chairs, a piano stool and a sewing machine. The case remains under investigation.

* On Aug. 16, Nissa Keagy, 46, 2460 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported she and her live-in boyfriend were incarcerated Aug. 14-15 and during that time someone entered her home. Keagy stated items stolen included a .223 rifle, two bank cards, two sets of socket wrenches, jewelry, a box of coins from the 1850s and a chainsaw. The case remains under investigation.

* On Aug. 17, a deputy arrested Joel A. Snyder, 29, 4753 State Route 339, Vincent, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. After being kicked out of a bar in Parkersburg, Snyder was walking to a friend’s home in Belpre when he was reportedly observed walking in and out of the roadway. Outside his friend’s home on Beach Drive, Snyder began making suicidal statements, police said. At the Washington County Jail, his blood-alcohol content tested at 0.134 percent.

* On Aug. 17, a 14-year-old Bartlett resident reported he was assaulted by an unknown male. The teenager was at the Waterford Fair when his assailant punched him in the face for no reason and knocked him to the ground. Authorities are attempting to identify the suspect. The case remains under investigation.

* On Aug. 18, Jessalin Carpenter, 18, 360 Mechanic St., Macksburg, reported she was involved in a domestic dispute with her brother, Jacob, 20. During an argument over his girlfriend, Jacob Carpenter yelled at his sister and threw a sandal, sunglasses and a tablecloth at her. At one point, Jacob Carpenter held up his fist like he was going to hit his sister and made a comment about killing her, police said. Based on the investigation, a warrant was requested for Jacob Carpenter for domestic violence.

The following suspect was processed into the Washington County Jail Aug. 18-19:

* William Chevelle Bailey, 35, 4055 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, for menacing by stalking, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 18.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Aug. 14.

* On Aug. 12, Ashley N. Moore, 22, 209 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported she was assaulted by her aunt, Lorrie Lucas, 36. Both women reside at the same home along with Lucas’s teenage son and Lucas’s mother. That evening, Lucas’s son was allegedly being rude, so Moore yelled at him because of his behavior when his mother left the room. Overhearing Moore, Lucas approached her in an aggressive manner and grabbed her by the hair. Lucas struck Moore several times before she was able to escape and bystanders intervened. Though Lucas claimed Moore attacked her, witnesses agreed that Lucas was the primary aggressor. Sgt. Anderson arrested Lucas for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 13, a resident on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township reported an acquaintance arrived at his home that evening and appeared to be overdosing. The victim briefly lost consciousness and then fled the scene. Deputies responded and could not locate the victim.

* On Aug. 13, Sharon R. Swartz, 63, Route 3, Box 55, Cameron, W.Va., reported the license plate off her Chrysler Cirrus was stolen while it was parked for repairs at National Muffler and Brake Services at 114 Ellsworth Ave., Marietta, between Aug. 1 and Aug. 13.

* On Aug. 13, Carol A. Harvey, 43, 1230 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, reported she was walking along Mayle Ridge Road when she heard someone yelling at her. Harvey said she then saw Susan Harvey, 40, 11722 Ohio 555, Cutler, yelling out of her vehicle’s window. After Susan Harvey passed Carol Harvey, she put her car in reverse and nearly struck Carol Harvey. Carol Harvey stated Susan Harvey blamed her for being placed on probation and threatened to beat her up when her probationary period was finished. Deputy Sheriff Metts requested a warrant for Susan Harvey for aggravated menacing.

* On Aug. 13, Brian Baughan, 35, 120 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, reported he was at work between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and during that time someone entered his home. Stolen from Baughan’s home were two televisions, a DVD player, 40 or 50 DVDs, an air compressor, three nail guns, a new pair of cowboy boots and a watch. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $1,120.

* On Aug. 13, Joseph E. O’Brien, 28, 710 King Ave., Cutler, reported he, Nathan Mercer, 37, and a friend were gathered around a bonfire on his property when his father arrived at the scene. William E. O’Brien, 50, 650 King Ave., began yelling about the bonfire and threatened to his son and Mercer that he was going to “burn down their house and they would be no more.” Joseph O’Brien and Mercer both stated the comment caused them to fear for their safety. The witness said she understood the threat of William O’Brien and said he was intoxicated and being loud and obnoxious. Deputy Sheriff McKee arrested William O’Brien for domestic violence and menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

* Pebble Michelle Longfellow, 29, 966 Ohio 555, Little Hocking, was arrested for failure to appear, a felony. Longfellow was picked up at the Lakin Correctional Center by Deputy Sheriff Ellenwood and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* William Eugene O’Brien, 50, 650 King Ave., Cutler, was arrested for domestic violence and menacing, both misdemeanors. O’Brien was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Justin Ryan Schroeder, 32, 6235 Fifteenmile Creek Road, Wingett Run, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Schroeder was arrested at the Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Gerber and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Aug. 13.

* Aug. 8, Lt. Rhodes arrested Sierra L. Radabaugh, 20, 1588 Elizabeth St., Belpre, for .08 breath OVI. Stopping Radabaugh for speeding on State Route 7 near Gravel Bank Road, Lt. Rhodes detected an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Radabaugh initially denied drinking any alcohol but later admitted consuming two beers, police said. Radabaugh subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail, Radabaugh tested .099 BAC.

* On Aug. 10, Irene G. Harmon, 46, 701 Fourth St., New Matamoras, reported an argument erupted when the father of her teenage daughter arrived at her home to retrieve some of his belongings. Michael Beegle, 56, recently moved out of the home and became angry because he believed Harmon was speaking on the phone with another man. Usurping Harmon’s phone, Beegle threw it against a freezer and broke it. When Harmon asked for Beegle’s phone, which is in her name, he threw it on the floor, stomped on it, and threw it at Harmon. Thereafter, Beegle punched Harmon in the leg, and fled the scene. Lt. Stackpole later located Beegle, arrested him for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 10, Tammy Malone, 60, 2120 State Route 550, Bartlett, reported she was driving her intoxicated boyfriend, Michael L. Leibrand, 51, 2930 Lake Road, Fleming, en route to his home when he became angry because she would not stop and buy him more beer. When they stopped at the intersection of Rocky Point Road on State Route 339, Leibrand removed the key from the ignition and again demanded to stop for more beer. He then pulled his fist back in a threatening manner and told her she would end up in the woods across the road. At that point, a passerby stopped and Leibrand exited the vehicle and began walking down the road. Malone said she felt Leibrand would have caused her harm if the passerby had not intervened. Deputy Sheriff Augenstein arrested Leibrand for menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Leibrand tested .289 BAC.

* On Aug. 11, Deputy Sheriff McGilton requested a summons for Courtney A. Stacy, 22, 716 Elm St., Belpre, for falsification. Stacy initially reported that a dog, a container of food and a dog bed were dumped inside her fenced yard sometime the previous day. However, when McGilton began investigating Stacy’s claim, she could not corroborate many aspects of her statement. McGilton determined Stacy willingly took possession of the dog from her father’s girlfriend. Stacy later admitted she lied in her statement, but she did not provide a reason for doing so.

* On Aug. 11, an employee of the Village of Lowell reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) removed approximately 60 feet of copper pipe from the men’s restroom at Buell’s Park.

* On Aug. 12, the mother of a 3-month-old child sought treatment for her daughter at Marietta Memorial Hospital. The mother, a Belpre resident, was carrying the child as she walked in her yard when her knee buckled and she fell to the ground. Medical tests determined the child did not suffer any injuries.

* On Aug. 12, Deputy Sheriff Hunter requested a summons for a 14-year-old New Matamoras resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. Previously counseled about her poor behavior, the teenager continued to be disrespectful while on visitation at her father’s home in Newport, police said. The teenager admitted yelling and screaming at her father because he sets rules for the house that she does not like.

* On Aug. 12, Lt. Gherke responded to the scene of death of a 61-year-old Muskingum Township resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Tuesday and Wednesday:

* Zachery Alan Arnold, 22, 131 Rauch Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Arnold was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Lorrie Lee Lucas, 36, 209 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lucas was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Thomas Michael Emerick, 45, 301 Oakwood Ave., Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Emerick was arrested on Cedar Street by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Gary Lee Cable, 34, 485 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, for three felony counts of trafficking in drugs and a misdemeanor count of failure to appear. Cable was arrested on State Route 7 by Lt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA- The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges Aug. 12:

* On three occasions between Aug. 9-10, deputies responded to incidents at 183 Fourth St., Lowell. First, Connie Vaughn, 43, reported Mary Lunsford, 18, threatened her and was cutting herself with a razor blade. A deputy noticed Lunsford was hysterical and could possibly be under the influence of narcotics. Lunsford, who had superficial wounds to her arm and neck, admitted to yelling at Vaughn and causing her distress. The L-A Fire Department subsequently transported Lunsford to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. She was charged with disorderly conduct. The following day, Vaughn reported she was involved in a heated argument with her live-in boyfriend, William Murphy, 67, and he called her derogatory names. Murphy also allegedly threatened to beat Vaughn and motioned as if he was going to kick her. Determining Vaughn was in fear for her safety, a deputy arrested Murphy for domestic violence. Twenty-one hours later, a deputy responded to Vaughn’s report that Lunsford locked herself in a bedroom and possibly overdosed on prescription medication. When he arrived at the scene, the deputy noticed Lunsford was upset and arguing with Vaughn. Lunsford admitted consuming nine Haldol pills in an attempt to harm herself. Again, the L-A Fire Department transported Lunsford to MMH for treatment and evaluation. The deputy charged Lunsford with a second count of disorderly conduct.

* On Aug. 9, Alisha Riley, 29, 1890 Indian Run Road, Marietta, reported she was involved in an altercation with her estranged husband, Donald, 30, 95 Rummer Road, Marietta. Alisha Riley said her husband has been violent with her in the past and she believes he was intoxicated during the present incident. During the altercation, Donald Riley shoved Alisha Riley to the ground and continued to shove her. Alisha Riley stated her husband’s actions caused her to fear for her safety. Donald Riley was arrested on a domestic violence charge and was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested 0.192 for blood-alcohol content.

* On Aug. 9, Orpha Adkins, 78, 200 Martin Road, Reno, reported her husband, Hoyt, 75, was intoxicated and began calling her names. Orpha Adkins said her husband becomes violent when he is intoxicated and slapped her twice in the face. Accusing his wife of having an affair, Hoyt Adkins allegedly threatened to kill his wife. At that point, Orpha Adkins grabbed a knife to thwart any of her husband’s physical aggression. While he was being arrested for domestic violence, Hoyt Adkins made comments about how he killed a man and bragged about being a bad person. At the Washington County Jail, he was overheard saying that he looked forward to killing his wife when he got out of jail, police said. However, he began laughing after making the comment, as if what he just said was a joke.

* On Aug. 10, officials investigated a domestic dispute involving Miranda McKenna, 22, and her live-in boyfriend, Devan Anderson, 23, 637 Martin Drive, Fleming. Arguing over text messages, McKenna and Anderson struggled over possession of a mobile phone. During the struggle, Anderson shoved McKenna, then grabbed her hair and slammed her head on the floor twice and hit her in the back three times. Anderson fled from the scene but was later located, arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 10, a deputy issued a citation to Kimberly D. Davis, 45, 43737 Paul Clark Road, Caldwell, for failing to stop at a stop sign when turning from Arends Ridge Road onto Ohio 60 in Muskingum Township.

* On Aug. 11, John H. Parsons, 62, 180 Main St., Vincent, reported he believes four acquaintances he recently allowed to stay at his home stole some of his property. Parsons said when he returned home after being away for several hours that morning, his four acquaintances were gone and $200, 1,200 rounds of ammunition, three magazines and two .22 cylinders were missing. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $880.

* Rodrick Domion Pettis, 25, 210 Harmar St., Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. He was arrested in the probation office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Richard Douglas Anderson, 29, 46345 Groves Hill Road, Caldwell, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. He was arrested in the probation office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11,

* Aaron James Buckley, 27, 1200 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, for nonsupport of dependants. Buckley was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Jeffrey Dwayne Wear, 44, 10595 State Route 555, Cutler, for two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of a protection order. Wear was arrested on Norris Cemetery Road by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Michael Ray Beegle, 56, 701 Fourth St., New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Beegle was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Benjamin Daniel Bruce, 25, 111 W. Montgomery St., Lot 23, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Bruce was arrested at his residence by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Jason Allen Lauderman, 26, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and for misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lauderman was arrested on West Montgomery Street by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 11.

* Matthew Scott Taylor, 18, 909 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control and for underage possession of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Taylor was arrested in Little Hocking by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 12.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office issued the following reports on Aug. 8.

* On Aug. 7, Sgt. Anderson arrested Matthew S. Taylor, 18, 909 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, for underage consumption of alcohol. While investigating a report that a stolen ATV may be at 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, Sgt. Anderson encountered Taylor. Anderson noticed Taylor had an odor of alcohol and that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Though he initially denied consuming alcohol, Taylor later admitted consuming beer.

* Bradly Steven Loyland, 27, 968 Braun Road, Belpre, was arrested for theft and for obstructing official business, both misdemeanors. Loyland was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Tewanger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 12:07 p.m.

* Tiffany Ashton Pendergrass, 25, 303 White Oak Valley, Princeton, W.Va., was arrested for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Pendergrass was arrested on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 4:45 p.m.

* Tamisha Willinia Lowe, 38, 2940 W. 31st St., Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Lowe was arrested on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 6:35 p.m.

* Xavier Freeman, 37, 502 Marcy Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested for human trafficking, possession of drugs, compelling prostitution and promoting prostitution, all felonies. Freeman was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 6:45 p.m.

* Matthew Scott Taylor, 18, 909 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested in the Veto area by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 8:56 p.m.

* Shaasia Odesia Jones, 23, 2487 Davidson Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested for complicity in human trafficking, complicity in compelling prostitution and complicity in promoting prostitution, all felonies. Jones was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 11:14 p.m.

* Reba Shawnessy Grahovac, 23, 448 Jenkinjones Mountain Road, Anawalt, W.Va., was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor. Grahovac was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 8 at 1:08 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Aug. 7.

* On Aug. 6, a manager at United Rentals, 1205 Pike St., Marietta, reported he recently determined that a customer that rented a generator in late May using his employer’s name did not deliver the generator to his employer and likely took it for his personal use. The customer has not made any rental payments for the generator, which is valued at approximately $2,000.

* On Aug. 6, Gary W. Mueller, 71, 2265 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported he found 12 bags of household trash on his property near mile marker four on Sandhill Road.

* On Aug. 6, Karen Coe, 63, 10557 Ohio 555, Cutler, reported her neighbor, Jeffrey D. Wear, 44, 10595 Ohio 555, Cutler, allegedly assaulted her in late July and she obtained a protection order against him following his arrest. According to the order, Wear is not permitted within 500 feet of Coe and is barred from staying at his home. Coe stated Wear has not initiated contact with her but she said he has been at his home every day since the order was issued. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested a warrant for Wear for violating the terms of a protection order. He was later arrested for the offense.

* On Aug. 6, Sgt. Anderson and Deputy Sheriff Call responded to the scene of death of an 82-year-old Palmer Township resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

* On Aug. 6, Tabitha Way, 32, 29465 Ohio 7, Marietta, reported four suboxone strips were stolen from where she hid them in a toolbox in a friend’s vehicle that was being stored in her garage.

* Kelly Scott Goins, 34, 1917 Rabbit Goins Lane, Malta, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Goins was picked up at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Gerber and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 6 at 12:20 p.m.

* Jerrianne Krystal Myers, 21, 705 Montgomery St., Marietta, was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Myers was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 6 at 1:42 p.m.

* Jeffrey Dwayne Wear, 44, 10595 Ohio 555, Cutler, was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of a protection order. Wear was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 7 at 8:15 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Aug. 5:

* On Aug. 3, Devan D. Welsh, 24, 865 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, reported his live-in girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, Zachary Barnett, 27, 231 Hillcrest Drive Apt. D, Marietta, threatened him multiple times. A day earlier, Barnett allegedly threatened to assault him and called him a dead man. Barnett subsequently sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend, Kassandra Noland, 23, stating he was not afraid to go back to prison and that he would take out her and Welsh, police said. Barnett also sent a message stating Welsh was as good as dead, police said. Noland thereafter received a message from a neighbor of Barnett that said the person overheard Barnett saying he was going to kill Noland and Welsh with a pistol, police said. Welsh and Noland stated Barnett’s statements caused them to fear for their safety. Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested warrants for Barnett for aggravated menacing and domestic violence.

* On Aug. 4, the owner of Sherlock Oil, 20805 Ohio 60, Beverly, reported overnight someone stole the pipe fittings from the storage boxes on two tanker trailers on the business’ property. The estimated loss due to the theft is $3,500.

* On Aug. 4, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department transported a 39-year-old to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a drug overdose. The victim, possibly under the influence of Xanax, was found unresponsive by his girlfriend. The victim is on life support and has no signs of brain activity, the sheriff’s office said.

* On Aug. 4, Deputy Sheriff McConnell requested a summons for a 16-year-old Belpre resident to appear in juvenile court for being unruly. The teenager left her home without permission that evening and her parents had no idea of her whereabouts. The teenager was warned on previous occasions that she would be charged if she did not comply with her parents’ rules. She later returned of her own volition.

* Aaron Ryan Robinson, 19, 505 Washington St., St. Marys, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Robinson was arrested at the office of probation officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 4 at 3:52 p.m.

* Angela Hope Hahn, 36, 1206 Hocking Road, Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Hahn was arrested in Marietta by probation officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 4 at 5:10 p.m.

* James Joseph Carpenter, 54, 413 1/2 Third St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 4 at 10:15 p.m.

* Scott Lee Carpenter, 52, 413 1/2 Third St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 4 at 10:15 p.m.

* Sherry Elaine Stone, 49, 2106 Miller St., Belpre, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor. Stone was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 5 at 12:30 a.m.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Aug. 4:

* On Aug. 1, Sgt. Anderson, Deputy Sheriff Underwood and the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at LWR Enterprises at 4310 Sparling Road, Waterford. The fire originated in an older model skid steer stored in the building and caused minor damage to the ceiling above it. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental in nature. No foul play is suspected.

* On Aug. 1, Barbara Cupp, 22, 717 Riverview Drive, Belmont, W.Va., reported she was at the home of her child’s father at 525 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, when an altercation erupted. Cupp said Seath Sebring, 25, shoved her to the floor, grabbed her hair and struck her head on the floor several times. Sebring then grabbed Cupp by the throat and allegedly threatened to rape her, police said. Cupp escaped to her vehicle and drove to a location where she was able to use her phone. Questioned about the incident, Sebring claimed Cupp attacked him. Sebring had several minor injuries, including a knife wound on the back of his hand. Sebring said he recognized the knife as one that Cupp always carries in her pocket. For their roles in the incident, police said, Sebring was arrested for domestic violence and Cupp was arrested for felonious assault.

* On Aug. 3, Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested a warrant for Delbert Cain, 38, 100 Simpson St., Marietta, for domestic violence. Cain’s live-in girlfriend, Felicia C. Jackson, 33, reported she was involved in an argument with Cain over their relationship. Jackson stated she was attempting to exit the residence when Cain knocked her unconscious. Jackson was unsure in which manner she was struck; she only remembered when she regained consciousness Cain was standing over her and apologizing. Cain thereafter fled the scene.

* On Aug. 3, Sgt. Anderson and Deputy Sheriff Underwood responded to Ohio 821 in regard to a suspicious male lingering on a property. The deputies located Stephen D. Marsh, 41, Marietta, on Ohio 821 near the intersection of Glendale Road and noticed he was unsteady on his feet and that he slurred his speech. Marsh, who was drinking a beer, admitted consuming beer earlier in the evening. Based on his observations, Anderson arrested Marsh for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 3, Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested a warrant for Clifton P. Harvey, 37, 22000 Big Run Road, Stewart, for assault. Harvey visited an acquaintance’s residence on West Road in Cutler and was intent on attacking him. Harvey struck the victim in the head with a beer bottle, then pushed him up against a wall and attempted to strike him again, while accusing him of stealing his money and drugs.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Friday and Monday:

* Ray Allen Ault Jr., 47, Marietta, for a felony charge of nonsupport of dependents and a misdemeanor charge of wildlife violations. Ault was picked up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Kyle Andrew Daugherty, 20, 410 Franklin St., Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Daugherty was arrested at the office of probation officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Seath Andrew Sebring, 25, 525 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Sebring was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Call and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Barbara Leanne Cupp, 22, 717 Riverview Drive, Belmont, W.Va., for felonious assault. Cupp was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Kyle Casey Morrison, 18, 501 32nd St., Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Morrison was arrested by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Marjorie Marie Lucas, 23, 1303 Carriage Hill Drive, Athens, for OVI and for failure to control, both misdemeanors. Lucas was arrested on Ohio 555 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Pamela Darlene Carpenter, 54, 913 Fifth St., Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested on Third Street by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Gary Michael Depue, 24, 300 Aurora St., Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Depue was arrested on Second Street by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Stephen David Marsh, 41, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Marsh was arrested on Ohio 821 by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Jeremy John Nicholas, 35, 705 Montgomery St., Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Nicholas was arrested at his residence by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Aug. 1.

* On July 30, Deputy Sheriff McConnell investigated a report of a damaged mailbox at 740 Dugan Road, Belpre. While en route to the scene, McConnell observed seven other mailboxes in the area that could have been damaged during the same incident.

* On July 31, Renee Parker, 23, 757 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported she was involved in an altercation with her housemate, Michael K. Delancey, 38. The two argued over the fact that Delancey was exchanging messages with his estranged wife. During the dispute, Delancey shoved Parker, ran after her and threatened to kill her, police said. Parker said Delancey punched her multiple times and knocked her to the ground. Delancey was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

* Keith Tyler Whealdon, 21, 2460 Huck Road, Lowell, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Whealdon was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Ellenwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on July 31 at 3:16 p.m.

* Thomas Hilton Bailey Jr., 49, 83 Watson Lane, Belpre, was arrested for two felony counts of theft. Bailey was arrested at his residence by Sgt. McLeish of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on July 31 at 5:33 p.m.

* Danielle Ann Vanwey, 30, 290 Everson Road, Belpre, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Vanwey was arrested at Kmart by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on July 31 at 6:02 p.m.

* Michael Kenneth Delancey, 38, 1987 Rock Run Road, St. Marys, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Delancey was arrested in Little Hocking by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on July 31 at 7:33 p.m.

* Daniel Arthur McElroy Jr., 40, 5530 Carlton Way Apt. 3, Hollywood, Calif., was arrested for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. McElroy was arrested on Blennerhassett Avenue by Patrolman Tewanger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 1 at 4:56 a.m.

* Jonathon Eugene Brown, 33, 501 32nd St. Lot A10, Parkersburg, was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Brown was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Aug. 1 at 12:25 p.m.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA – Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on July 31.

* On July 29, Sgt. Holbert and the L-A Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the residence of Zachary L. Morrow, 27, at 502 Walnut St., Lowell. The fire appears to have originated in the battery compartment, where Morrow recently charged the vehicle’s dead battery. The 2002 Ford Focus was deemed a total loss. No foul play is suspected.

* On July 29, the driver of a FedEx truck became lost in the area of McCormick Hill Road and Shay Ridge Road in Ludlow Township and jackknifed in the roadway. The driver, who fell over an embankment and injured his hip, was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. The truck was subsequently towed from the scene.

* On July 29, Deputy Sheriff McPeek arrested Mark J. Smithmyer Jr., 31, 47472 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for domestic violence and two counts of assault. Smithmyer punched through the kitchen window of his former live-in girlfriend’s residence at 47410 State Route 7 and gave her an “evil stare.” Jessica Shipe, 21, is the mother of Smithmyer’s child and she stated his actions caused her to fear for her safety. Admitting he had been consuming moonshine, police said, Smithmyer tested .251 BAC when he received treatment for cuts at Marietta Memorial Hospital. While receiving treatment, Smithmyer struck a male nurse in the chest. As medical personnel attempted to restrain him, Smithmyer kicked a female nurse on her arms.

* On July 30, Deputy Sheriff McConnell issued a citation to Samantha D. Miller, 25, 1760 Hickman Road, Waterford, for failure to obey a traffic control device, a stop sign at Ohio 339 after exiting U.S. 50.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Wednesday and Thursday:

* David Aaron Hansen, 36, 832 Ridge St., Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hansen was arrested in Marietta by Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Arlene Mae West, 24, 480 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. West was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Shawn Lee Wittekind, 36, 763 Glendale Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Wittekind was arrested at the Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail.
