Boy injured in fall off bridge at Woodridge
MINERAL WELLS – A young boy fell off a bridge at Woodridge Plantation early Wednesday evening causing serious injuries.
The call came over the emergency radio system around 5 p.m. of a 9- to 10-year-old boy who fell 16-feet off of a bridge to the rocks below, dispatchers said.
The boy was breathing, but severely injured.
Crews called for a helicopter but it could not launch due to weather conditions, radio traffic indicated.
As of 5:30 p.m. the child was in an ambulance and headed to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, a 911 supervisor said. Further details regarding the incident or the child’s condition were unavailable at deadline.
