PARKERSBURG — A pedestrian was taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon, according to the Parkersburg Police Department. Officers responded to the intersection of Fifth and Avery streets at approximately 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27 for a reported vehicle-pedestrian crash. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Police did not release the person’s identity or information about the extent of the injuries. MARIETTA -- Three people were killed in traffic accidents Saturday in the region, including a Newport man in Washington County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Tyler R. Auville, 34, Newport, was killed when the 1965 Ford Mustang he was driving went off State Route 7 in Ohio Township, struck an embankment and overturned, the Marietta Post said.
