Kiki’s Corner: Ready or not, Christmas is here

Christmas is right around the corner now and you still have time to finish the last-moment shopping, wrapping, grocery shopping, baking, having family in plus getting prepared for your trip if you plan on going out of town for Christmas.

Christmas is only a one-day celebration, but we spend weeks and months in advance preparing, planning and shopping when we should be giving attention and concentrating on the true meaning of the season, which is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Instead, many of us do not hold true to this and are running to the stores to find the appropriate gift for our loved ones and friends.

As we well know when you find that special gift, do not hesitate to purchase it right then. Chances are if you wait and return to purchase, it will have sold.

This has happened personally to me many times, and after all these years I have finally learned not to hesitate or put off purchasing the item.

This year, bows seem to be very popular and placed on almost everything. I spotted a beautiful red bow for my Christmas tree, and I talked myself out of purchasing it, only to return the next day to buy it finding it had already sold. Thankfully, I found a nice similar red bow at another store the next day, but I could have saved a lot of time and energy had I purchased the one the day before.

I think this Christmas we all need to try our best to do good deeds, which not only helps people but also makes an impact on the person, plus we get self-satisfaction and accomplishment personally.

Wishing you get everything taken care of that you need to do in these last four days before Santa makes his appearance.

Wishing you all a healthy and happy “Merry Christmas.”

Till next week
