West Virginia University at Parkersburg pins 18 nursing graduates

PARKERSBURG — Eighteen graduates of the Spring 2017 nursing program at West Virginia University at Parkersburg received their pins on May 5 during ceremonies in the College Activities Center.
The students, who completed graduation requirements for the associate of applied science in nursing, are Cathy Allman, Kaci Bare, Kristen Dietz, Kelly Haines, Kaitlyn Harper, Katlin Kincaid, Danyashae Martinez, Mona McGraw, Sheynna Morton, Joseph Nesbitt, Mary Porter, Samantha Rea, Chasta Rinehart, Rachael Scarberry, Casey Snyder, Chana Tepe, Katelin Wines and Evana Wise.
The ceremony included greetings from Fletcher Lamkin, WVU-Parkersburg president, Chad Crumbaker, interim vice president for academic affairs, and Chasta Rinehart, student representative. Speaker was Jo Hendershot, clinical manager for Camden Clark Medical Center.
“We are so proud of our nursing graduates and the hard work they’ve put into this achievement,” said Cheryl Michaels, Nursing and Health Sciences division chair. “It’s definitely a time for celebration.”
Faculty members presented nursing graduates with pins, which was followed by a candle lighting ceremony and the traditional reciting of the “Florence Nightingale Pledge.”
