West Virginia reports drop in active COVID-19 cases

CHARLESTON — Active cases of the COVID-19 virus dropped again from Tuesday to Wednesday, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said. The department reported 2,272 active cases on Wednesday, down 115 from the Tuesday pandemic update. Also reported were 632 new cases of the virus were received between the Tuesday and Wednesday updates. West Virginia nearing 7,000 COVID deaths

Staff Report CHARLESTON — Another 16 residents have been added to the COVID-19 death toll in West Virginia, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported on Tuesday. Fifteen of the deaths were from the data reconciliation with the official death certificates by the Bureau of Public Health. The additional 16 fatalities raises the death count since the pandemic started more than two years ago in West Virginia to 6,993. The deaths include a 71-year-old man from Kanawha County. COVID numbers continue going up in West Virginia

CHARLESTON — COVID-19 numbers continued their upward trend locally and around the state over the weekend, according to the most recent statistics from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Yellow counties increase on West Virginia COVID alert map

CHARLESTON — After weeks of a mostly green COVID-19 County Alert System map, a majority of counties were yellow, according to statistics released Friday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The number of active cases tallied 2,321, a net increase of more than 200. A total of 812 new cases were reported from Thursday to Friday morning. West Virginia reports slight decrease in COVID cases

CHARLESTON — Another slight drop in COVID-19 cases in West Virginia was reported Thursday by the Department of Health and Human Resources. The state reported 2,117 active COVID-19 cases statewide, 29 less than the 2,146 reported in Wednesday’s pandemic update. CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia slightly dropped between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the latest pandemic numbers released Wednesday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
