CHARLESTON — Active cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus rose over 2,000 again on Thursday, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said. The state reported 2,004 active COVID-19 cases statewide, up from 1,855 on Wednesday. CHARLESTON — Active cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus remained about the same from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Staff Report CHARLESTON — Active cases continued to decline Tuesday while the death toll from the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to rise, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Statewide, the department reported 1,854 active COVID-19 cases, down 135 from the 1,989 reported by the state on Monday. CHARLESTON — Deaths from the COVID-19 virus have exceeded 7,000 in West Virginia where active cases have dropped below 2,000, but hospitalizations are slightly up Monday, the Department of Health and Human Resources said. CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases remained flat from Thursday to Friday in West Virginia, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources. The state reported 2,198 active cases on Friday, up two in the 24-hour period between Thursday and Friday morning. CHARLESTON — The state reported Thursday another slight decrease in active cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in West Virginia while hospitalizations broke 200. The Department of Health and Human Resources reported 2,196 active cases statewide, a drop of 76 from Wednesday when the state said there were 2,272 cases.
