CHARLESTON — Nine more people have died from the COVID-19 coronavirus since last week in West Virginia, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said Wednesday in its weekly virus update. The deaths included a 43-year-old woman from Nicholas County, the department said. Pandemic updates changed from Monday through Friday to Wednesday-only this week. West Virginia reports one new COVID-19 death; DHHR ends daily updates

CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources will end its daily COVID-19 coronavirus updates, the department announced Friday. The change coincides with the expiration of the federal public health emergency set to end on May 11, the department said. The state is updating the COVID-19 dashboard statistics to better reflect the current response to the pandemic, the department said. CHARLESTON — Four more deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus were reported Wednesday morning by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The state has confirmed the deaths of a 79-year-old woman from Kanawha County, an 84-year-old man from Ohio County, a 92-year-old man from Monongalia County and a 90-year-old woman from Marion County.
