Mid-Ohio Valley community pools ready to dive into summer

PARKERSBURG — With the end of the school year and the start of summer, several pools all across the Mid-Ohio Valley are gearing up to serve their communities with aquatic fun for everyone.

Here is a list of each pool in the area, including their hours, contact information, admission costs, and other pertinent information.

City of Parkersburg Pool: 1920 Park Avenue, Parkersburg; 304-424-8572; Opening Day: Saturday, May 24; Closing Day: Monday, Sept. 1.

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 12 to 6 p.m., Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free for ages 2 and under and for active military, $4 for ages 3-17, ages 55 and up and for veterans, and $6 for ages 18-54, $4 for ages 55 and up and veterans. Seasonal pool passes are $75 for ages 3-17, ages 55 and up and for veterans and $95 for ages 18-54. Family passes are $200 for up to four family members and $25 per person for each additional family member.

Southwood Pool and Slide: 2104 Belmont Road, Parkersburg; 304-424-8572; Opening Day: Saturday, May 24; Closing Day: Monday, Sept. 1.

Hours: Monday-Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional: The Southwood Pool and Slide Facilities will only be open on the weekends until Monday, June 9, then it will be open normal hours starting Tuesday, June 10. Starting Wednesday, Aug. 20, the pool and slide will go back to operating only on weekends until Sept. 1.

Admission and seasonal passes are the same as City Park Pool.

Marietta Aquatic Center: 233 Pennsylvania Ave., Marietta; 740.373.2445; Opening Day: Wednesday, May 28; Hours: 1 to 7 p.m. daily.

Admission cost: $8 for ages 3-12, seniors and military with proper military ID, $9 for ages 13-17, and $10 for adults. The Punch Card Rate (Ten Visits) is $50 for ages 3-12 and military, $55 for ages 13-17 and $60 for adults. Only credit/debit cards or passes will be accepted for admission.

Pleasants County Aquatic Center: 605 Cherry St, St Marys: 304-684-7525; Opening Day: Saturday, May 24; Closing Day: Monday, Sept 1. Hours: Mon-Saturday 12-5 p.m., Sunday 1-6 p.m., Mon/Tues Night Swim 6-8 p.m. Summerfest/Glow Swim is June 21.

Admission cost is $5 per person with ages 3 and under free. Seasonal pool pass is Individual $60, Family of two $80, Family of three $100, Family of four $120, Family of five $140 and Family of six $160.

Swim lessons will take place June 9-13 and June 16-20 from 11-11:30 a.m. The cost is $50 per swimmer per week. Call number to book.

Jackson Park Pool: 1601 34th St., Vienna; 304-295-4121; Opening Day: Saturday, June 9; Closing Day: Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Hours: Monday-Saturday: Noon-6 p.m., Friday Evenings only, 7-9 p.m., Sunday only, 1-5 p.m.

Additional: Swim lessons Session 1: June 25-29. Session 2: July 16-20. Must be 3 years of age.

Water Aerobics will start on Thursday, June 14, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and will last until Aug. 9. Aqua Zumba will start Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and will last until Aug. 11 at $40 per session.

Admission is free for 4 years and younger, $3 for 5 years and up, half price on Friday evenings, Discount Passes are $25 for 10 visits.

Williamstown Healthy Lifestyle Pool: 502 Williams Ave., Williamstown; 304-375-2707; Opening Day: Tuesday, June 10; Hours: 12-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free for ages 3 and under, $5 for ages 4 and up, $3 for night swims, $4 for seniors 55+, military and first responders with proper ID. Seasonal pool pass is $225 for family up to four and $25 each person after and $85 for individuals. Those who want seasonal pool passes can purchase them at the Williamstown City Building, 100 West Fifth St., Williamstown.

The Belpre Municipal Pool at Civitan Park will not be open this summer due to technical issues.
