Wood County candidates release campaign finance balances

PARKERSBURG -- An incumbent for the West Virginia House of Delegates has the largest campaign financial balance among Wood County candidates for the Legislature, according to reports filed with the secretary of state.
Vernon Criss, Republican from District 12, reported a balance of $44,314 going into the May primary. He is running unopposed and no one has filed on the Democratic ticket.
First quarter campaign finance reports were due Monday with the secretary of state, covering the period from Jan. 1 to March 31. The primary election is May 14.
Criss, chairman of the House Finance Committee, reported contributions of $19,350 for the period and a beginning balance of $25,064.
Among contributions were $250 or less from EDF Renewables PAC and Clearway Energy, $2,800 from the Laborers District Council, Arch PAC, Building and Construction Trades from Charleston and OPEC in Charleston, $500 from ExxonMobile and Chuck Hughes and $1,000 from West Virginians for Coal, Community Bankers, Larry Oleska of Morgantown, Riley White of Charleston, Upper Ohio Building and Construction and the West Virginia Beer Wholesalers PAC. He reported expenditures of $100.
Incumbent Delegate Bill Anderson, R-10th, of Williamstown reported a balance of $20,020. He reported contributions of $4,700 for the period, including $250 or less from D.T. Midstream, EDF Renewables, Clearway PAC and WV LAWPAC. Anderson reported contributions of $1,000 from the Diversified Oil and Gas PAC and $2,800 from Arch PAC.
Republican incumbent Delegate Bob Fehrenbacher of the 11th District reported a balance of $10,147, contributions of $3,750 for the period and expenditures of $456.
Fehrenbacher reported contributions of $250 or less from Clearway Energy and Community Bankers, $500 from Charles Hughes of Parkersburg, ExxonMobile, West Virginia Beer Wholesalers and American Electric Power and $1,400 from WV Bank PAC.
Republican Delegate Scot C. Heckert of the 13th District reported contributions of $6,000 for the period and an ending balance of $8,490. He reported expenditures of $1,633 for the period.
Heckert listed contributions of $250 or less from Jan Dils Hughes, RKSB Health Care Consulting, Carol S. Fulks, Ray G. Burke, the Community Bankers PAC and WV LAW PAC, $500 from James Scudiere of Enterprise, W.Va., Arch PAC and the West Virginia Beer Wholesalers, $800 from Acadia Healthcare of Franklin, Tenn., $1,000 from the Building and Construction Trades in Charleston and $1,500 from the West Virginia Appalachian Laborers District Council in South Charleston.
Delegate Dave Foggin, R-14th, reported no campaign financial activity for the period and no contributions or expenditures and a zero balance.
The 14th District, composed of Wood and Wirt counties, is the only local district for which a Democrat filed in the primary. Jim Marion did not file a report as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the secretary of state's website.
Incumbent state Sen. Donna Boley, R-3rd, who represents Wood and Pleasants counties, did not file a report as of 5 p.m., according to the secretary of state's website. No Democrats have filed for the 3rd District for the primary election.
