Blondena West, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 13, 1941, in Palestine, West Virginia, Blondena was the daughter of the late W. Ray and Bertha Blondena McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ronald; her infant brother, John; and her brother, Kenneth McCoy.

Blondena worked 18 years for Sangamon Cards and later in life, at Nashua Photo before retiring from Fahlgren Advertising, where she formed lasting friendships with coworkers who became like family to her.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness, quiet strength, and generous heart touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her children, Kelly West of Parkersburg, Jill Chidester (Carleton) of Wilmington, NC, and Jeffrey West of Atlanta, GA; her cherished grandson, Noah Chidester; her nephew, Nicholas McCoy (Savannah); several nieces and nephews; granddogs, grandcats, and many dear friends and extended family members.

Blondena loved her Lord and Savior, first and foremost. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she shared that love through her kindness, compassion, and the way she cared for others. She dearly loved her family and treasured her many lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the countless memories she created with them. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Kelli Cawley for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Reverend Brian Leversee officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
