Parkersburg man faces sex abuse, strangulation charges
Daniel Wayne Lively
PARKERSBURG — An incident involving sexual assault and strangulation brought a Parkersburg man into custody over the weekend.
Daniel Wayne Lively, 28, 1046 Murdoch Ave. Apt. 1, Parkersburg, was arrested after the alleged victim reported the assault, according to the criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Law enforcement responded to the Warner Kia used truck parking lot on Seventh Street on Friday to talk to the victim, the complaint said. The victim claimed Lively exposed himself to her and asked her to touch him. He then grabbed her and bent her over the rock she was sitting on, the complaint said.
Lively allegedly pressed himself into her through her clothes before he removed her clothing, the complaint said. When the victim tried to get away, Lively allegedly tackled her to the ground and put her in the chokehold. He then punched her in her left ear, according to the complaint.
“The victim was screaming and crying for help,” the complaint said.
Lively removed her clothes and threatened to perform sexual acts on her but a nearby witness intervened and Lively ran along the railroad tracks, the complaint said.
Lively is being charged with the attempt to commit a felony, sexual abuse in the first degree and strangulation and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $250,000 surety bond.
