Three arrested on meth-related charges

ST. MARYS — Law enforcement officers this week in separate cases arrested three people and seized two batches of methamphetamine after a traffic stop in Ritchie County and a search warrant in Pleasants county.

Patrick Runnion, 47, and Melissa Wise, 51, of St. Marys were charged with possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Robert Paul Harris Jr., 58, 4105 County Line Road, St. Marys, was arrested after a traffic stop and is being charged with possession of a controlled substance.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Ritchie County Magistrate Court, deputies of the Ritchie County Sheriff’s department were patrolling Lynn Camp and Oxford Road when they saw a vehicle, driven by Harris, pass by with a broken windshield.

After conducting a stop and searching the vehicle, Harris was found to have three bags of methamphetamine, a knife and a set of keys inside a pill bottle, the complaint said.

The sheriff’s department said 4.4 grams of methamphetamine were seized from Harris.

The St. Marys Police Department and the Tyler County Sheriff’s Department worked together to arrest Runnion and Wise, according to a press release from the St. Marys Police Department.

A search warrant conducted at 714 Sixth St., St. Marys, resulted in the seizure of 1 ounce of methamphetamine and distribution materials, the release said.

The street value for the amount of drugs seized is $1,500, the release said.

Runnion was reported to have conducted previous drug transactions in Tyler and Pleasants counties, the release said.

Wise and Runnion are being held at North Central Regional Jail.
