PARKERSBURG –Jackson Middle School students made items for the silent auction during the Festival of Trees at the Blennerhassett Hotel.
The students’ two wreaths, choir of angels, three birdhouses and Christmas tree made of corks will be up for bids at the silent auction on Dec. 4.
The 33rd annual Festival of Trees opened Tuesday at the Blennerhassett Hotel. Trees and wreaths have been decorated by teams of people representing local businesses, organizations and individuals.
The live and silent auctions of these items will take place on Dec. 4 at the Blennerhassett Hotel.
The event raises money for the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in West Virginia. The center provides medical rehabilitation and pediatric therapy to children and adults in the Ohio Valley, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, early intervention and rehabilitative medical care.

This is the 15th year the Jackson Middle School students have crafted items for the festival.
The art honors students at Jackson enjoy making the gifts for the Easter Seals fundraiser, said Kay Mason, art teacher at the Vienna school.
