West Virginia’s active COVID cases steady; four deaths reported

CHARLESTON — Statewide active COVID-19 cases remained steady while another four deaths from the virus were confirmed Wednesday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The state reported 970 active COVID-19 cases, more than 40 more than on Tuesday, but about par with the total active cases reported on Friday. CHARLESTON — Statewide active cases in West Virginia neared 1,000 on Monday, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources. The department reported 972 active cases on Monday. It also reported 738 new positive cases were received since the last pandemic update on Friday. Staff Report CHARLESTON — Statewide COVID-19 coronavirus cases rose nearly 50 from Thursday to Friday, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said. The state reported 817 active cases Friday, up 48 from 769 on Thursday. Another 279 new positive cases were received in the 24-hour period between Thursday and Friday mornings, the department said. Staff Report CHARLESTON — Eleven more residents have died from the COVID-19 coronavirus, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported on Thursday.
