State reports three confirmed COVID-19 deaths

Staff Report CHARLESTON — Three more people were confirmed on Tuesday as deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus in West Virginia by the Department of Health and Human Resources. The confirmed deaths were a 73-year-old woman from Randolph County, an 83-year-old man from Randolph County and a 92-year-old man from Monongalia County, the department said. Tyler County goes yellow on West Virginia COVD map

CHARLESTON — A third county in the region turned yellow Friday on the County Alert System Map that is based on infection rates, according to the the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources on Friday. Tyler County joins Pleasants and Ritchie counties as the only yellow counties in the region. Nine counties in the state are now yellow on the map. The rest are green. CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases climbed above 700 and a dozen deaths were attributed to the virus in Thursday’s update from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. West Virginia reports slight rise in COVID cases

CHARLESTON — COVID-19 coronavirus cases slightly rose from Tuesday to Wednesday, but remained below 700 statewide, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported on Wednesday. The state reported 689 active cases as of Wednesday morning, up from 665 on Tuesday. The state also reported 227 new positive cases were received between Tuesday and Wednesday. CHARLESTON — Pleasants and Ritchie counties were yellow on the County Alert System Map in West Virginia, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources’ Tuesday morning pandemic update. The map rates counties in terms of infection rate and percent positivity and is based on the lower of the two measurements in five levels, green for the lowest and red for the highest.
