Worthington Women’s Golf Association teeing off 2024 season Tuesday

PARKERSBURG — The Executive Board and Council of the Worthington Women’s Golf Association announced finalized plans for the 2024 golfing season.
The season will begin with the annual dues Coffee from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the meeting room at the Worthington Golf Course Club House, said Lori Butler, WWGA chairwoman. Refreshments will be served and members are invited to attend, pay dues and sign up to play for the 2024 season, as well as reconnect with members they may not have seen since the close of last season.
All lady golfers, including past and present members and any who may be considering joining the Tuesday morning league, are cordially invited to this event. There are both nine-hole and 18-hole player options.
Regular League play is on Tuesdays and will run from May 7 to Aug. 27. The regular season ends with a nine-hole scramble scheduled for Sept. 3. The annual League Tournament to determine the 2024 champion will be Sept. 10 and 17.
Playing start times will begin at 8 a.m. in May, 7:30 a.m. June through August and 8 a.m. in September. Players always meet in the clubhouse after play for a luncheon served by association members.
There will also be special opportunities for play during the season, including the much-anticipated annual “Fun Day” scheduled for July 18. Further details about this event that annually sees about 100 ladies from area courses participate will be announced and provided to all area clubs as the event nears.
