LOGAN, Ohio — There are 32 minutes of game time in a high school basketball contest.
Sometimes, though, games are decided much earlier than that.
The Warren Warriors set the tone out of the gate in Friday’s Division II sectional championship against Jackson, rolling to a 72-41 win over the Ironmen at Jim Myers Gymnasium.
Warren (20-3) is headed to the Convocation Center in Athens for the district tournament. The Warriors will have next week off before playing either Logan Elm or Unioto at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 4.
“Feels good to go back to the Convo,” said Warren head coach Blane Maddox. “It’s nice to get the opportunity to go. We deserve it. We’ve worked hard for 10 months. Looking forward to playing our best ball at OU.”

Junior Jacob Sealey, who knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 14 points, added, “It’s awesome. It’s been awhile for us. It’s nice.”
Sealey watched classmate Connor Barry knock down a pair of treys early to help put Warren up 8-0. The Warriors never looked back as Sealey buried two 3-pointers of his own before Barry’s layup built the lead to 22-9 at the end of one.
“Felt great,” Barry said. “Team caught on fire. Defense was playing great. Everything was moving for us.
“We had to match their intensity to start the game. We matched it throughout the game. We set the tone to start and just crushed it from there.”
Sealey knocked down another triple early in the second. And Tyson Cochran followed with a 3-pointer of his own to make it 30-12. Jackson got within 12, 36-24, thanks in part to baskets by Ryan Seimetz and Boston Campbell, but Sealey’s drive stretched it to 38-24 at halftime.

Sealey canned his fourth trey to open the third quarter.
“Awesome way to come out,” Maddox said. “Barry and Sealey coming out and hitting those was key. We told them, ‘you’re going to get shots. They’re going to put so much concentration on the other guys.’ They got us hot, and we stayed pretty hot.”
When opponents put the bulk of their attention on standouts Trent Taylor and Julian Stadelman, it makes the assignment pretty simple for the rest of the Warriors.
“Stand in the corner and shoot 3s,” Sealey laughed. “That’s our role. It works.”
Warren finished 8 for 13 from the 3-point line and 30 for 52 (57.7%) overall from the floor.

Warren's Julian Stadelman (00) is defended by Jackson's Bodhi Wolford during Friday's Division II sectional final at Logan High School.
Stadelman, who scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, made his only 3-pointer of the game at the 5:14 mark in the third, making it a 20-point game at 46-26.
A pair of buckets by Hayden Wells and a basket by Stadelman stretched the lead to 30, 68-38, with 2:41 remaining. Both teams emptied their benches at that point, and it wasn’t much longer before Warren was cutting down nets.
Defensively, the Warriors limited Jackson to just 14 field goals on 44 attempts for a shooting percentage of 31.8%. Bodhi Wolford was the Ironmen’s only double-digit scorer with 13 points.
“I thought we did a pretty good job,” Maddox said. “I thought they got to the foul line a few more times (11 for 14) than I wanted them to. I thought we held our ground pretty well. Just really pleased with this team.”
For Warren, Taylor scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds. Stadelman and Sealey had four assists apiece with Stadelman notching three steals.
