WOMEN

Glenville State 118, Urbana 92

URBANA, Ohio — Emily Stoller went 12 for 17 from the floor, including 9 for 12 from 3-point range, en route to scoring 34 points in Glenville State’s 118-92 win over Urbana Wednesday.

It was the 100th career coaching victory for GSC boss Kim Stephens. She improved to 100-15 overall as Glenville’s coach and became just the fourth coach in program history to reach the century mark.

Stoller was of four Pioneers in double figures as Ty Armstrong netted 22, Zakiyah Winfield tallied 20, Re’Shawna Stone added 14 and Taychaun Hubbard chipped in 12.

Tied at 28-all after the first quarter, Glenville created some separation in the second but outscoring Urbana 30-19 to go up 58-47 at halftime.

Tyra James poured in game-highs of 36 points and 12 rebounds for Urbana while Sylvia Hudson tacked on 20 points and 11 boards.

Glenville now is 15-4 overall and 10-2 in the Mountain East Conference, while Urbana fell to 12-7 and 8-5.

Marietta College 63,

Otterbein 60

MARIETTA — Luce Duritza helped Marietta College swat Otterbein University.

The 5-foot-11 junior had five blocks, coming off the bench, as the Pioneers rallied from a 15-point third-quarter defict to defeat Otterbein University, 63-60, Wednesday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference women’s basketball game at Ban Johnson Arena.

Alexis Enochs scored 16 points to lead the Pioneers (9-9 overall, 5-6 OAC) while Marlo Taylor and Bailee Brooks added 12 and 10 markers, respectively. Devin Hefner netted nine points, including two clutch freebies that iced the game.

Otterbein (10-8, 5-6) –which defeated MC earlier in the season, 67-56, in Westerville –was paced by Jenna Hoschouer’s game-high 17 points. Hailey Bauer chipped in with 14 points while Abbie Scholz had nine markers and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Glenville State 83,

Urbana 73 (OT)

URBANA, Ohio — Glenville State outlasted Urbana, 83-73, in overtime on Wednesday afternoon at the Grimes Center.

The game was tied at 70-70 after 40 minutes, but the Pioneers outscored Urbana 13-3 in the extra five minutes to emerge victorious. GSC (12-7, 9-4) was 5-of-10 from the field in overtime, while Urbana (4-15, 3-10) was just 1-of-7.

Steven Verplancken was 9-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc, to finish with 22 points. He also had seven rebounds. Hegel Augustin (17 points and 11 rebounds) and Ty Robinson (14 points, 13 rebounds) each had double-doubles in the victory. Tyvon Taylor chipped in 12 points.

Shaunn Monroe dropped in five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points for Urbana. Tehree Horn filled the box score with 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Mario Lacy contributed 14 more for the Blue Knights.

Marietta College 76,

Otterbein 54

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — No. 12 ranked Marietta College won a key Ohio Athletic Conference road game with a 76-54 victory over Otterbein University Wednesday evening.

The Pioneers improved to 16-2 overall and remain tied for first place in the OAC with a 10-1 record. The Cardinals fell to 6-12 on the season and 3-8 in league play.

The Pioneers were led by Lukas Isaly and Tim Kreeger as the duo each tallied 16 points, and Kreeger pulled down six rebounds. Mason Lydic added a spark off the bench as he had 15 points, and pulled down a game high eight rebounds.
