Letter to the Editor: Voters should educate themselves about the candidates

In a letter in the Sunday, July 28, newspaper titled “Responding to Trump is the Right Man,” the author stated Trump’s contingent was in Paris, France, and someone mentioned visiting the Aisne-Marne cemetery approximately 60 miles away. There was a light drizzle, and Trump felt it would spoil his hair. Trump (allegedly) said, “Why go there? No one but suckers and losers there.”
The author neglected mentioning the people accompanying Trump claimed Trump never said any such thing. Unfortunately, CNN, MSNBC and the other anti-Trump fake news media claimed to have an anonymous source, so they jumped on and ran with the story, without verification. To the fake news media, any negative Trump story is worth reporting, even if later proven untrue, hoping gullible Americans will believe it.
The fake news jumped on and ran with the Trump-Russia collusion story, until the story was proven to be a hoax, perpetuated by Hillary Clinton and her Democrats. It was then the fake news became silent on the issue. The fake news never apologized to their viewers for misinforming them.
The same is true of the Hunter Biden laptop story. The fake news media reported the Hunter Biden laptop was a plant and Russian disinformation. Newsmax and Fox News reported from day one the laptop did belong to Hunter Biden, which was proven true, and the fake news has been lying to the American people all along.
The most recent example of the fake news lying to the American people is when they collaborated with the Democrats in covering up Joe Biden’s cognitive decline over the last several years. The fake news edited quips removing Joe Biden’s gaffes and physical stumbling. Joe Biden’s mental decline came fully to light during his debate with Trump for the world to see. The fake news was no longer able to cover up Biden’s decline.
Anyone who wishes to believe Trump called deceased veterans “suckers and losers” may do so, but it will take more than an anonymous source from fake news outlets with a long history of lying to the American people to convince me.
Everyone should educate themselves about their candidates before casting their vote. This means they don’t merely listen to the fake news and believe everything they hear about a candidate. It’s everyone’s civic duty to be totally informed before voting.
