If you want a job here in the Mountain State, you can find one. But the question is whether a person can find a job that is the right fit for them. That’s where things get a little tricky. An opportunity coming up Sept. 6 could be an important part of the search for the right fit — for workers AND employers.

WorkForce West Virginia is hosting another in its series of Statewide Virtual Job Fairs, from 1-3:30 p.m. Sept. 6. Job seekers and employers have to register — find out more here: https://workforcewv.org/individuals/job-fairs/.

“WorkForce West Virginia’s Statewide Virtual Job Fairs provide a unique opportunity for job seekers and employers to connect, ask questions and submit resumes from the comfort of their phones,” said James Bailey, Secretary of the state Department of Commerce. “We are happy to be able to continue bringing job opportunities to the hard working people of our state, in an easily accessible way.”

WorkForce West Virginia is to be commended for developing such a strategy, as the creation of “virtual booths” allows the chance for employers and workers to connect even if finding a way to meet up in person would have been difficult. So far, the technique has yielded impressive results.

“We invite West Virginians looking for the next step in their careers to join employers from across the state to learn more about opportunities within West Virginia,” said Scott Adkins, acting commissioner of WorkForce West Virginia. “Since these events began, nearly 5,600 job seekers have registered and visited more than 51,000 booths to connect with organizations hiring in a variety of industries.”

Those seeking a job and those seeking the right workers to join their teams must not miss the opportunity.

Starting at $3.70/week.
