Burl “Don” McVey

Burl “Don” McVey, 84, of Elizabeth, Wirt County, passed away on May 2, 2026, at Elizabeth Care Center in Elizabeth. He was born on August 6, 1941, in Pee Wee, a son of the late Roy and Edna (Fluharty) McVey. Don was a veteran of the United States Army, a construction worker, and a lifelong Wirt County farmer. He enjoyed taking family and friends on trips out west, especially to Clovis, New Mexico, and Whitman, Nebraska. He was a member of Center Valley United Methodist Church.
