Johnson

Judith Darlene Johnson went to be with her heavenly Father on April 21st, 2026. A faithful Christian, she continued to sing, praise, and inspire others until her calling. “Darlene” was a wonderful wife of 59 years to her devoted husband, Robert and mother of two children. Judith was born on July 31, 1945 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Cecil and Wanda (Sweezey) Madison.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Robert, daughter Gloria (John) of High Point, NC and son Daniel (Shannon) of Westerville, OH, Sister Lois (David) Cornell of Parkersburg, WV as well as two grandchildren, Coleman and Hannah Johnson. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother Cecil.

A graduate of Parkersburg High School, Darlene attended classes at WVU-P and gained employment as a secretary at Dupont’s Washington Works Facility where she made many long-lasting friendships. While employed at Dupont, Bob and Darlene built their home near Vincent, Ohio. They enjoyed their lives together on the property for over 40 years.

Darlene actively attended church first at The 19th Street Church of God and later The Little Hocking Church of God, where she often sang in worship. She was a strong supporter of Girl Scouts, leading troops of all ages and served as Chair of the Heart of Ohio Council.

Darlene’s Life will be celebrated by her husband and children before being laid to rest at Veto Ohio Cemetery.
