Allene R. “Toni” Nern

Allene R. “Toni” Nern, 99, of Parkersburg, passed away November 3, 2025, at The Wyngate after a short illness. She was born on May 5, 1926, in Randolph County, WV, a daughter of the late Edward L. Rosencrance and Annie Swecker Rosencrance.

She graduated from Tygart Valley High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. After moving to Parkersburg, she attended Mountain State College. She was a member of the Camden Clark Medical Center Auxiliary and was a long-time member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Circle. She worked at Stork’s Bakery, Parkersburg Newspaper and retired from the Accounting Department of Parkersburg Coca-Cola.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald F. Nern; one son, John F. Nern; two sisters, Christine Lockhart and Martha Matcham; two brothers, Jack Rosencrance and James Rosencrance.

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Samuel) Tyre; one grandson, Andrew (Jordan) Singer; one granddaughter, Katie Nestor; three great grandchildren; Addison Fluharty, Emma Fluharty and Jameson Singer.

Funeral services will be Friday 2:00 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Cynthia Eakle officiating.

Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
