Thomas Edwin Lynch, 79, of Little Hocking, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Harmar Place in Marietta, Ohio, surrounded by his wife and daughters. Tom was born on April 13, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Helen Irene Lynch and Joseph Edwin Lynch. He was a dedicated husband, a hard-working father, humorous grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tom was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 565 for over 40 years, having joined in 1978. He worked for Valley News Service and Union Insulating Company. He also held a long-standing membership with the Moose Lodge #1118. He loved Mountaineer football. He volunteered his time with The Red Cross. He was also a member of the River City Runners.
Tom was a Parkersburg High School graduate of the class of 1964, this is where he met his wife of 61 years, Ginnie. Along with his wife he leaves behind 4 children; David Lynch of Vincent, Ohio; Lori Smith (David) of Marietta, Ohio; Jared Lynch (Amanda) of Harrisville, WV; and Bethany Lemon (Ryan) of Little Hocking, Ohio. He was also the grandfather of ten grandchildren: Alisha Lynch, Brienne Geeves, Kylie Schlemmer, Coleman Lemon, Matthew Lynch, Ryan Lynch, McKaylee Lynch, EmmaLee Lynch, Nixin Lemon, and Shaylin Lemon. Tom had two great-grandchildren: Mila Schlemmer and Brock Geeves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Joseph Lynch; his two brothers, Richard Lynch and Donald Lynch; his daughter-in-law, Cha Lynch, and a nephew Donny Lynch.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 22, at 3 p.m. at Decatur United Methodist Church on 555 in Little Hocking, OH.
