Jose Bello-Correa

Jose Bello-Correa passed away very peacefully at WVU Camden-Clark on Sunday, March 2, 2025. He was surrounded by his family who loved him so very much and will miss him terribly. Jose was born February 5, 1943 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was raised in New York City. He very proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975. He was a graduate of Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania and King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Jose was passionate about the arts. He was a wonderful musician, artist and author of “Marine Tigers: A NewyoRican Story,” an autobiography about his life growing up in New York City. He sang and played many instruments and exhibited his art many times.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patty; two daughters, Denise Marie Bello-Weiss and Viveca Lee Andrews, and one son, David Francisco Bello; his brother, Frank Bello; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandfather of Eva, Carolann, Darnell Jr., Travis, Salena, and great-granddaughter Lola.

His wife and children would like to thank Dr. Michael Moses, his brother-in-law, for being his physician for over 25 years and for the guidance and support through the most difficult times. They would also like to thank his amazing “family” at The Willows: the Nurses, the CNAs, the Respiratory Therapists, the Physical Therapists, the Speech Therapist, and the office staff. He received such loving care there.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
