MARIETTA — A Belpre resident was arrested Monday on a drug charge following an investigation by two local law enforcement agencies.
On Tuesday, Washington County Sheriff Mark Warden reported the arrest of Jessica Renee Queen, of George Street, Belpre, on Monday after a mutual coalition with the Belpre Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.
A search warrant was served at 708 George St., Belpre, in reference to a narcotics investigation.
Officers located a bag of methamphetamine weighing 38.69 grams and a bag of fentanyl weighing 56.67 grams in a safe in Queen’s bedroom, Warden reported. Also found within the bedroom were digital scales, Ziploc bags, bags of sweeteners (cutting agents), a blender, and a drug ledger.
Queen was advised of her Miranda Rights with her stating she understood those and agreed to speak with officers. Queen advised the drugs belonged to her that were located and that she had recently used fentanyl, Warden said.
Queen was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in fentanyl and possession of fentanyl, both first-degree felonies, and possession of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony.
Queen appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on Tuesday and was being held without bond.
