Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Jan. 31:

* Sullivan Michael Hill, 2043 Sams Creek Road, Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $181.48.

* Abigail Nichole Kapple, 502 Thomas St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to speeding in a school zone and fined $276.48.

* Tyler Allen Baxter, Little Hocking, pleaded guilty to fleeing from law enforcement, fined $176.48 and sentenced to one year in jail which was suspended and she was placed on two years of unsupervised probation. Charges of accessory before the fact and possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription were dismissed, per a plea agreement. He also pleaded guilty to obstruction, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 30 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation which will run concurrent with the other charge. A charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* William Joshua Twilley, 625 32nd St, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to assault of government representatives, health care providers, utility workers or law enforcement, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 120 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation. Charges of battery of government representatives, healthcare providers, utility workers, law enforcement or EMS and assault of government representatives, health care providers, utility workers or law enforcement were dismissed, per a plea agreement. He also pleaded guilty to battery of a government employee and/or medical personnel, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 120 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation which will run concurrent with the other charge.

* Christopher Keith Parker, 2006 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription and shoplifting, fined $201.48 and sentenced to six months in jail after not completing an adjudication agreement. He was ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to the Sheetz store on Seventh Street.

* Andrew James Caplinger, 2201 Beverly St. Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived for charges of grand larceny and breaking and entering. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.

* Angela Marie Moore, 2255 Sycamore Lane, Stockport, pleaded guilty to accidents involving damage to a vehicle and fined $196.48.

* Otis Joseph McDay, 545 Store Ave., Akron, pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm and fined $701.48. A charge of speeding was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Peggy Ann Murphy, 4453 18th Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to use of a cell phone without a hands-free device while driving and fined $100. A charge of going left of center was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Michael Levi Gainer, 1204 28th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and speeding in a work zone and fined $502.96.

* Joshua Earl Boston, Vienna, pleaded guilty to public intoxication and fined $186.48. He had a charge of domestic assault dismissed, pursuant to the statement of the alleged victim.

* David Allen Gibson, 671 Beulah Rd., Morgantown, was arraigned on charges of grand larceny (from Monongalia County), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, fleeing with reckless indifference, transferring/receiving stolen property and held on $50,000 bond.

* Johnathan Patrick Lott, 2139 17th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of kidnapping and held without bond until a hearing is held in Wood County Circuit Court.

* Donnie Clavel McCumbers III, 22 Lee Creek Road, Belleville was arraigned on a charge of mandatory disposal and released on $1,000 bond.

* William Lee Murphy, 508 Phillips St., Marietta, was arraigned on a charge of driving on a revoked license for DUI and released on $500 bond.

* Nicholas Allen Snider, 3306 Birch St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense shoplifting, less than $500, and released on $1,000 bond.

* Heavenly Dawn Cox, 104 Lucile Lane, Washington, was arraigned on two counts of shoplifting and released on $500 bond.

* Gregory Alan Carter, 1743 Seventh St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense shoplifting, less than $500, and held on $250 bond.

* Amanda Lynn Phillips, 205 Tiffany Lane, Elizabeth, was arraigned on a charge of obstruction and possession of a controlled substance and released on $5,500 bond.
