Eva May Morris Lambert, 93, of Harrisville, departed this life on June 24, 2026 at her residence in Harrisville.

She was born June 7, 1933 in Harrisville, the daughter of the late Robert Morris, Jr. and Edna Mae Wedekamm Morris.

Eva May was a graduate of Harrisville High School, Class of 1951. In 1946 she was a Golden Horseshoe recipient. In 1949 she was princess of Ritchie County. She worked with her husband for many years at Joe Lambert Trucking Inc. In 1958 they became the owners of the Stone Building. In 1992 they opened it as The Heritage Inn in Harrisville. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and had managed the youth dept. 2006, she was awarded the WV Hero Award in Charleston, WV for her role in the founding of the Thomas Harris Museum in Harrisville. She loved to decorate homes, shopping for antiques, tending her flowerbeds, traveling and being married to Joe. She researched her family genealogy back to the 1600’s. She was a member of both Daughters of American Pioneers and Daughters of American Revolution.

She is survived by two daughters, JoAnne Lambert Mumford Hissem (Jimmie) of Salem, and Kathryn Lambert Mahaney (Wesley) of Fortson, GA; grandchildren, Melissa of Savannah, GA, Heather of Washington, DC, Joel Mumford (Tina) of Jupiter, FL, Laura (Nick) of Fortson, GA; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and brother, James A. Morris (Sharon) of Harrisville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Lambert; brothers, Robert Morris III and Jack Morris; and sisters Phyllis Barnes and JoAnn Young.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Raiguel Funeral Home with Sam Lambert and Joseph Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery.
