A 21-year-old Marietta man jumped off the Williamstown Bridge Saturday morning, the Williamstown Police Department said.

The victim was identified as Ronald White Jr., who was recovered from the river at about 3 p.m., the police department said. The department was notified around 8:15 a.m. Saturday about an individual jumped from the bridge, the department said.

Identification was made and the family has been notified, the department said.

Assisting agencies in the investigation and recovery included fire Departments from Williamstown, Marietta, Reno and Little Hocking, Marietta Police Department, St. Joe Ambulance Services, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and the Wood County Coroner.
