Wetzel County man receives 30-month sentence in gun case
WHEELING — A Wetzel County man was sentenced to 30 months in prison Friday on a firearms charge in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Alexander Cleveland King, 35, of New Martinsville, pleaded guilty in March to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a release from Acting United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard. Prohibited from having a firearm because of a previous conviction, King admitted to having .45-caliber pistol in January in Wetzel County.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Marshall County Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated. U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided.
