Three arrests made in separate incidents over weekend
PARKERSBURG — Among the arrests over the weekend were three Parkersburg residents on three separate incidents involving grand larceny, sexual assault and wanton endangerment.
In November of 2020, it was reported to law enforcement that Jayden Lantern Thomas, 19, 1346 Covert St., Parkersburg, had allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old female victim, according to the criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
After speaking with the child advocacy center, the victim said she had intercourse with Thomas, the complaint said.
“The defendant also confirmed that he was sexually assaulted by the victim in this case through Wood County Family Court,” the complaint said.
Thomas was not married or related to the victim, he was a friend, the complaint said.
Thomas is being charged with sexual assault in the third degree and was released on a $35,000 surety bond.
After allegedly stealing a Mack truck, Bobcat and trailer from a construction site on Emerson Commons Boulevard in Parkersburg in September 2018, Ronald Shane Barker, 44, 1404 Ridgeway Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested, according to a criminal complaint filed with magistrate court.
In September 2018, a dump truck was found on the side of the road and it was found to belong to a construction company, the complaint said. After investigation, it was discovered the truck was hooked up to a trailer and a Bobcat. The trailer and Bobcat were found in Elizabeth a few weeks later, the complaint said.
Further investigation revealed Barker was involved after DNA was found in the Mack truck and matched, the complaint said. Barker also had a capias through the Wood County Circuit, the complaint said.
Barker was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety bond.
In a third incident over the weekend, shots were fired towards three people during an altercation between the pets of two neighbors, which resulted in the arrest of Tera Sue Lively, 35, 300 Ivy St., Parkersburg, according to a criminal complaint filed with magistrate court.
On New Year’s Eve, officers responded to Ivy Street after a call reporting a person with a firearm, the complaint said. While on the way to the scene, units were told the firearm was discharged, the complaint said.
After arrival, Lively told law enforcement her dog had gotten into a fight with the neighbor’s dog, the complaint said. While the altercation was taking place, Lively brought out a handgun and fired it, according to the complaint.
Three people were nearby when the incident happened as they were trying to get their dog away from Lively’s when Lively fired the gun, the complaint said.
Lively is being charged with three counts of wanton endangerment and was released on a $2,500 surety bond.
