Active COVID-19 cases dip below 1,000 in West Virginia

CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases dropped below 1,000 statewide in West Virginia, the state Department of Health and Human Resources reported on Thursday. The state reported 968 active cases, down from 1,002 on Wednesday. Cases have been on a downward trend and the state may have passed the peak of the most recent surge, according to West Virginia coronavirus adviser Dr. Clay Marsh. West Virginia sees active COVID cases top 1,000

CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases are just above 1,000 statewide in West Virginia, the Department of Health and Human Resources said on Wednesday. The DHHR reported 1,002 active cases, the first time the number has been at that level since around the first week of May. Another 367 new cases of the virus have been received in the 24-hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday, the state said. CHARLESTON — Two residents in their mid-40s are among the 10 confirmed COVID-19 deaths reported on Friday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The department has confirmed the deaths of a 46-year-old man from Logan County and a 46-year-old woman from Clay County. West Virginia reports plateau in COVID statistics

CHARLESTON — Statewide active COVID-19 cases remained in the 1,100 range on Thursday in West Virginia, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The state reported 1,146 active cases, up 21 from Wednesday. Another 403 new cases of the virus have been received between Wednesday’s and Thursday’s report.
