Power outage in Williamstown leaving over half the community without power

WILLIAMSTOWN - The city of Williamstown experienced a power outage that left over 50% of residents without power Tuesday morning. Officials with Mon Power reported the outage at 10:19 a.m. due to equipment damage. According to Mon Power, there were 1,775 out of 3,375 Williamstown residents without power with restoration completed shortly after noon. Wood County Schools Superintendent Christie Willis released a message to the community promptly after the outage and it stated that Williamstown High School and Elementary were impacted late in the morning. PARKERSBURG — More than 60 nonprofit organizations will benefit from Give Local MOV 2026, a 24-hour online fundraising campaign organized by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation & Regional Affiliates and its local sponsors.
