As Give Local MOV returns Tuesday, May 5, the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation is reminding donors that while the annual event is structured as a 24-hour online giving campaign, contributions by check will also be accepted.

Donors who prefer to give by check may mail contributions to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1762, Parkersburg, WV 26102, or drop them off at the foundation’s office at 1620 Park Ave. Checks should be made payable to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and include “Give Local MOV – (agency name)” in the memo line to designate the intended nonprofit. Those wishing to support multiple organizations are asked to include a separate list detailing each agency and the corresponding donation amount.

Foundation officials noted that while all donations are appreciated, contributions made by check are not eligible for matching funds or prize incentives tied to the May 5 campaign.

“Online giving through GiveLocalMOV.org is the most effective way to maximize the impact of your support,” said Julie Posey, associate director of development and stewardship at the foundation. “It is a secure and efficient process that allows participating nonprofits to benefit from matching funds and prize opportunities. However, we are grateful for all forms of giving and value every contribution we receive.”

Donors can make online contributions by visiting www.givelocalmov.org and selecting the “Explore Organizations” option to choose participating nonprofits.
