Mid-Ohio Valley scoutmaster receives Silver Beaver Award

CHARLESTON — A scoutmaster with Troop 12 in Parkersburg received the Silver Beaver Award at the Buckskin Council of Scouting America annual recognition dinner Saturday in Charleston.
The Silver Beaver Award bestowed on Christopher Burk is the highest honor for an adult leader. The award recognizes service, dedication and leadership was established in 1931.
Burk has been a Scouter for more than 22 years, serving as scoutmaster of Troop 12 for 13 years and a district commissioner for the Kootaga District for the last five. He also was the Buckskin Council climbing director.
Burk is the marketing manager at Pickering Associates. He and his wife, Grace, reside in Vienna with their two children, Adrian and Calista.
