Golden installed as pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

PARKERSBURG — Daniel Golden was installed June 19 as the new pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Golden was ordained the previous Sunday at his home in Waterloo in Upstate New York at the Calvary Church. Golden came to the faith about a decade ago and has spent much of those 10 years studying for the ministry, first through classes to be a certified lay minister and soon afterward studying for a master of divinity.
The ministry is a second career for him as Golden spent more than two decades in retail management. He and his wife, Julie, have five children aged 27 to 10.
Among pastors present for the installation were Pastor Brian Westgate of Redeemer in Oakmont, Pa., and Pastor McCanless of Concordia in Brentwood, Pa., and Golden’s classmate Pastor Stanley Lacey of St. John’s in Clarksburg. Golden was installed by Pastor Danny Koch, Ohio District circuit visitor for Parkersburg.
Preacher for the service was Golden’s vicarage supervisor, Pastor Clint Poppe of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb. He preached on Numbers 21:4-9, Moses raising the bronze snake in the wilderness when the people were bitten by the fiery serpents.
Participating pastors included Pastor Mark Raddatz of Emmanuel in Lancaster, Ohio, Pastor John Davidson of Redeemer in Lancaster), Pastor Robert McCanless of Concordia in Brentwood, Pa., emeritus Pastor Robert Duncan Pastor Frank Ruffatto of Redeemer in Charleston), emeritus Pastor Roger Sayre, who also is St. Paul vacancy pastor, and Pastor Andrew Wilson of Trinity, Zanesville.
A dinner was held in the fellowship hall after the service.
