PARKERSBURG — Kraton Polymers is leading with the largest workplace giving campaign so far in the 2020-2021 campaign in the nine-county service area of the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley.

During the company’s three-month-long United Way campaign, Kraton employee pledges, along with a generous company match, totaled $122,280 to benefit United Way and its partner agencies, Stacy DeCicco, executive director of the United Way Alliance, said.

“Kraton is simply leading by example,” DeCicco said. “From the top down, their leadership understands the value of the United Way and the impact the organization is making on people who work hard but fall short.”

The partnership with the United Way Alliance amplifies Kraton’s support, according to Dave Mongilio, manager of strategic initiatives for Kraton and a board member of the United Way Alliance.

“Through our partnership with the United Way, Kraton’s support will have the most impact and will make a positive difference in our community and for our neighbors and local families,” Mongilio said. “We also appreciate the role the United Way plays in organizing and leading these efforts in our community.”

The United Way Alliance is grateful, said Todd Nestor, a United Way Alliance vice president and campaign chairman.

“We are extremely grateful to each and every one of their employees, and congratulate them on a job well done,” Nestor said. “Without the support of Kraton, many in the community would go without vital services. This is an inspiring example of how corporate partners are working with United Way to change lives right here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.”

The annual campaign ends March 31. Earlier this month, DuPont donated $27,000 to the United Way Alliance.

While time is running out, companies interested in offering payroll deduction to employees can still participate and can contact the United Way office for more information. For more information about the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, go to www.uwamov.com.
