VIENNA – The Freedom Festival will return to Vienna on June 25-27 with a lineup featuring Grammy-nominated band Smash Mouth and Resurrection: A Journey Tribute. Attendees can enjoy carnival rides, big truck shows, a car show, food trucks, vendors, parachute team performances, professional wrestling, and more.

Friends of Vienna Organizer Amanda Mott said this is the festival’s fifth year and along with the returning events, there will be new and exciting events for festival attendees this year.

“Every year we try to bring something new that we haven’t done before or something the area hasn’t done before,” said Mott. “This year we’re doing a wrestling event with former WWE wrestlers.”

She said they’ve never done an event like wrestling before and admission for the wrestling event costs anywhere between $5-30 depending on the package that’s purchased. Wrestling is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mott said a key part of the festival has been making admission and parking entirely free for guests. She said the goal is for everyone to be able to attend and their attendance has “increased exponentially each year.”

She said the board has a debrief meeting each year following the festival to discuss what went well and what needed changed.

“We always want to learn and grow over the years,” she said.

Mott said the event she is looking forward to the most is Smash Mouth. Another popular event has been the drone light show Saturday evening. She said the drone light show went viral the first year and has brought in a lot of attraction since.

“We’re honored to be able to keep prices low and have no admission cost,” she said. “We want to do something for the community and celebrate the military and the fourth of July.”

*5-11 p.m. – carnival rides, food and craft vendors

*5-7:30 p.m. ticket booth opens for wrestling events

*6-7 p.m. – wrestling stars meet and greet opportunity

*7:30-9 p.m. – Red, White, and Bruised wrestling event

*9:30-11 p.m. – Rocking by the River Dance Party

Friday, June 26

*10 a.m.-2p.m. – Big Truck Day

*noon-11 p.m. – food and craft vendors

*4-11 p.m. – carnival rides

*3-3:45 p.m. and 5:30-6:15 p.m. – Wild World of Animals Shows

*6-6:15 p.m. – festival grand opening

*7-8:15 p.m. – Jack and Davis Reid

*8:30-10 p.m. – Resurrection: A Journey Tribute

Saturday, June 27

*9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – car show

*11 a.m.-11 p.m. – food and craft vendors

*noon-11 p.m. – carnival rides (rides close 4-5 p.m.)

*1-1:45 p.m., 3:30-4:15 p.m., 6-6:45 p.m. – Wild World of Animals Shows
