PARKERSBURG — The 19th annual Heritage Quilt Show is underway at the Blennerhassett Museum through Sunday.
The show is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the museum at 137 Juliana St., Parkersburg. Admission to the museum is $4 for adults and $2 for children, which will allow visitors to enjoy the historical artifacts there, as well as the quilts.
The theme for this year’s show is “Garden Party.” Categories include large, small and miniature quilts, in addition to antique quilts, which will not be judged.
Prizes will be awarded for Overall Best of Show, Best of Show – Hand Quilted, Best of Show – Machine Quilted, People’s Choice Award, Superintendent’s Choice Award and Best Theme.
Also on display is a “wooden quilt” carved and assembled by members of the local Geppetto Woodcarvers.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said quilt show Chairwoman Brenda Wentzel, whose husband, Patrick, is a member of the woodcarvers’ group.
