More local thinclads grab All-Ohio honors
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Over the weekend, three local track athletes from three different schools found themselves on the podium at the OHSAA state track championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Marietta junior Ian Putnam competed in the 3200 on Saturday, crossing in 9 minutes, 2.33 seconds to place third and make All-Ohio. Putnam’s time broke his own school record. Putnam was back at it on Sunday in the 1600. He clocked in a 4:31.38 to finish 16th. For the Warren Warriors, junior Mason Werry placed fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.74.
