Prep football roundup: ’Jackets, Rebels close regular season with wins

Williamstown 41, Scott 21
WILLIAMSTOWN — Jackson Kerr ran for three touchdowns to help Williamstown close the regular season with a 41-21 win over Scott Friday.
Jack Moore got the scoring started for the Yellowjackets, who at 5-5 will wait to see if they earn a Class AA postseason bid. Moore ran in from 5 yards out at the 5:59 mark of the first to make it 6-0.
A Jackson Fulton 36-yard touchdown pass to Breck Allen, followed by Kerr’s first score from 42 yards out, made it 20-0 at halftime.
In the third, Christian Hoosier had a 90-yard scoop-and-score before Kerr rushed for a 51-yard touchdown to make it 35-0 Williamstown.
Scott got on the board with 4:22 left in the third thanks to Mason Brown’s 2-yard TD run.
Williamstown answered with 4:52 remaining in the fourth when Kerr found the end zone from 4 yards out.
SHS, which added a pair of inconsequential touchdowns in the final minute, finished the season 2-8.
Ritchie 38, Calhoun 0
ELLENBORO — Ritchie County churned out 573 yards of total offense, including 435 yards on 37 carries, en route to a 38-0 win over Calhoun County Friday.
The Rebels finished 4-6 while the Red Devils concluded at 3-7. Neither team advanced to the playoffs.
Carter Satterfield led Ritchie with 124 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. He also caught a 21-yard TD pass from Turner Shriver, who went 6 for 19 passing for 120 yards. Shriver, who also rushed six times for 118 yards and a score, had two TD passes to Jenner Keen, who caught four balls for 90 yards.
Also finding the end zone for RCHS was Isaiah Poole, who opened the scoring with a 26-yard TD run. Poole ended up with 88 yards on four carries while Landen Hanlon added 78 yards on six attempts.
Brennen Carpenter led Calhoun with 61 yards on 21 carries. The Red Devils struggled moving the ball through the air, as three passers combined for 3 completions on 15 attempts for 30 yards and three interceptions — two by Hunter McCray and one by Satterfield. Blake Rowan had a sack.
