Prep football roundup: Doddridge rolls past South Harrison

WEST UNION — Jerod Trent and Lyric Blake scored two touchdowns apiece to help lift Doddridge County to a 34-8 win over South Harrison Friday.

Trent caught a pair of 50-plus-yard TDs from Brysen Dixon in the first half to make it 13-0. He finished with three catches for 144 yards.

Blake then caught an 18-yard TD pass from Dixon to make it 20-0 at halftime. In the third quarter, he ran for a 26-yard score. Blake carried 15 times for 99 yards. Dixon finished 10 for 19 passing for 224 yards. His fourth touchdown pass of the day went to Landon Thomas from 6 yards out with 9:55 remaining in the game.

South Harrison (4-3) got on the board with 1:14 on the clock when Xavier Tustin scored from 3 yards out. Shepard Paugh paced the Hawks with 93 yards on 17 carries.

Doddridge improved to 6-0 and will play host to Braxton County next week.

Wahama 53, Ritchie County 8

ELLENBORO — Reezin Stitt and Treyvon Bearhs both eclipsed 100 yards rushing as Wahama rolled to a 53-8 win over Ritchie County Friday.

Stitt, who found the end zone three times in the contest, carried eight times for 162 yards. Bearhs scored once, carrying 12 times for 101 yards.

Trace Simpkins, who had 85 yards on six rushes, also scored once on the ground. The Wahama QB went 10 for 12 passing for 180 yards with a pair of TD strikes to Robert Roush, who caught five balls for 121 yards.

Wahama stayed perfect, improving to 7-0 with an off week set for next week.

The Rebels, who dropped to 1-5 and visit Tygarts Valley next week, scored in the fourth quarter on Carter Satterfield’s 1-yard touchdown run.

The White Falcons out-gained RCHS 541-156.

Waterford 63, Federal Hocking 0

WATERFORD — Hayden Jones, Weston Fairchild and Trevin Zimmer scored two touchdowns apiece while the Waterford defense put together a dominating display in Friday’s 63-0 win over Federal Hocking.

Jones, Fairchild and Zimmer all scored twice in the first quarter to help the Wildcats (6-2) build a 42-0 halftime lead.

Waterford, which plays host to Trimble next week, saw Brayden Smith, Trace Harmon and Ryder Wolfe all score rushing TDs in the second half.

Defensively, Waterford gave up less than nothing. The Lancers, now 1-7 with a home game against Southern slated for next week, finished negative-57 yards of total offense.

Fairchild recorded a pair of interceptions, including a pick-six, while Weston Hennes and Cadon Riley each recovered fumbles.

Jones led all rushers with 132 yards on five carries. Zimmer added 82 yards on five attempts.
