MOV Parent: Challenges of parenthood
(MOV Parent - Graphic Illustration - MetroCreativeConnection)
As I was driving the other day and thought it was time for me to submit my article for my monthly parent publication two things came into my mind.
First, I love children and second I love cooking and wondered how I could combine these two subjects together in an article. Being a mother of three and grandmother of eight I have developed a great love for children and motherhood is one of the greatest things in the world just to create a human being to love and cherish. Cooking is my second love and very similar to molding a child. For example when a person is ready to prepare a dish you read the recipe very carefully putting all the ingredients on the table so as not to leave out anything and begin mixing and preparing. It takes skill and patience to turn out a recipe that is successful and delicious at the same time.
Motherhood is very similar because as soon as you find out you are expecting a child you carefully start taking better care of yourself by eating healthier, avoiding drinking and smoking, taking vitamins and visiting your doctor on a regular basis taking his advice. We do this because like a baker wants their recipe to come out great and taste good as a mother we want our child to also turn out healthy and perfect. How this is accomplished is by following what I have written above.
If your recipe does not turn out the way you wish or want, there are easy solutions because you do not have to consume what you prepared or serve it to anyone, whereas it does not work like that with a child that once born you must take care of and cherish, being responsible and protective.
Once your child is born you must start to mold your child as if you were preparing a recipe beginning at a very young age which is not always an easy job.
You should be sure to let your child know that you are in control and must listen to your instructions and advice but also at the same time letting them know how much you love them and care for them.
Always keep in mind that if you have multiple children that each one is an individual and possibly requires having to change some of the ingredients like you would do preparing a recipe depending on the situation etc. — Just never give up on your child and always be their guardian angel.
Till next month.
