Cora Frances Evangeline “Eve” Adkins, 76, of Mineral Wells, passed away February 18, at CCMC. She was born at home in Hinton, WV on July 15 1949, to her parents Isaac and Eloise Bennett. She attended Hinton H.S. On December 25, 1965, she married the love of her life, Buster Adkins, and they were married for 57 years until his death. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of children, even if they weren’t hers. She also enjoyed crafting and loved doing all the local shows. Virginia “Carol” Bever, 86, of Vienna, died February 26, 2026. Carol was born on August 18, 1939, in Parkersburg, WV. She was the daughter of Ralph E. and Margaret E. Duffield. While she was raised in Vienna an extensive part of her childhood summer and holidays were spent at her maternal grandparents (Bernice and Perry Morgan Ramsey) in Braxton County, WV. Carol was a 1957 graduate of Parkersburg, WV. She was a graduate of Scott School of Beauty. She owned and operated Carol’s Beauty Salon for 65 years.
