Norma Jean Echard

Norma Jean Echard, 83, of Harrisville, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 30, 1943, in Macfarlan, WV, Norma was the daughter of the late Willard Jenkins and Victoria Easton McGuire.

A devoted homemaker, Norma faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher at North Fork Baptist Church for many years. She cherished spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. Known for her gift of conversation, she especially enjoyed talking on the phone over a cup of coffee or visiting with friends while sitting on her breezeway. Norma also treasured the hugs she received from everyone, especially Tucker Sammons, which always brought a smile to her face.

Norma is survived by her children, Jerry Jenkins, Mellin, WV, Kimberly Whited (Donald), Mellin, WV, Victoria “Vickie” Mossor (Clay), Harrisville, WV, Debbie Sheets Hardbarger (Brad), Harrisville, WV and Laura Reynolds, Harrisville, WV; grandchildren, Heather (Darrell), Jessica, Jerica, Jed, Ashley, Donnette, Danny (Kendra), Jackie (Dylan), Richard (Heather), Savana (Dalton), Trenton, Buddy (Kayla), Kayla (Tyler), Melissa (William), Lerissa (Albert); thirty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; former son-in-law, Brian McGinnis, sister-in-law, Shirley Jenkins; and best friends Linda Hupp and Lucille Williams.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Patterson; seven brothers, Dale, Bob, Wayne, Ernie, Ralph, Willie Jenkins, and Joseph McGuire; one grand-daughter, Crystal Whited; daughter-in-law, Jane Jenkins; son-in-law, Jeff Sheets; step-father, Cecil McGuire; and cousin, Naomi Clark.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, WV, with Pastor Darrell Farley officiating. Burial will follow in the Nutter Cemetery, Macfarlan, WV.
