Jamie Brooks Nester

Jamie Brooks Nester, 54, of Parkersburg, formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 25, 1971, at Grantsville, the son of Sandra “Sandy” J. Boothe Nester and the late Carl Duane Nester.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Becky Mullins.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carrie Ann Sturm Nester; son, Ryan (Minday) Nester; four grandchildren, Brantlee, Blake, Arianna and Kristian; sister, Loretta (Lee) Gilliam; father-in-law, Denny (Patti) Sturm; god granddaughter, Paisley Grace Harper; aunt, Fay Williams; numerous cousins; his boxer dogs, Sassy and Ziva.

Jamie was a truck driver for C&L Enterprises, Parkersburg. Jamie’s passion in life was his work. He took great pride in being a truck driver and genuinely loved what he did. Over the years, the bonds he built with his coworkers grew far beyond friendship. They became brothers, and those connections will never be broken.

He loved his family with his whole heart. He was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. He was truly one of a kind in every role he held. Jamie was among the kindest souls you could ever meet, and his loyalty as a friend was unmatched. He had a special way of making everyone feel like family.

Jamie loved the outdoors, and some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting. He had a deep appreciation for firearms, a passion he was grateful to share with his brother-in-law. Even during his illness, the two of them spent countless hours together, talking about them.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Robert “Bob” Keen officiating.
