Nancy June Casto

Nancy June Casto

Nancy June Casto died January 8, 2026, at her home at the age of 82 following a more than five-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare and chronic neurodegenerative disorder.

Nancy was born to Floyd and June Lenore Wilcox Rogers on November 11, 1941. She graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1961. She attended Glenville State College (now University) graduating with the class of 1965. Following graduation Nancy went to work with the WV Department of Health and Human Service. She was with DHHR for thirty-six years retiring in 2001 as the Area Supervenient for Wood and Wirt Counties.

Following retirement, Nancy became diligently active in community service, and like her mother, became a soulful source of inspiration in numerous religious programs and churches in the community. Her deep love for her husband, Harold, led them to enjoy travel on his motorcycle, as well as international travel in central and western Europe. They resided in The Villages in Florida for almost five years before the untimely death of Harold. Always following the news of the Parkersburg area, she discovered that the last house that she and Harold had called home was up for sale, so she sold their home in The Villages and purchased her previous residence in Parkersburg. She returned to active service with religious groups, as well as with an advisory group for Glenville State University.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister/cousin Betty Lou Allen Tefft, brothers F. Thomas Rogers and Daniel F. Rogers, grandson Stephan Casto, great grandson Garrett Lass and her beloved husband Harold Casto.

She is survived by one brother, Richard L. Rogers (Susan) of Vienna, WV, two nephews: Matthew T. Rogers (Melanie) of Kingston, PA and Jonathan D. Rogers (Alex) of Marietta, OH.

In addition, Nancy was survived by her sons, Steve (Alice) Casto of Parkersburg, WV, Mike Casto of Charleston, WV, Theresa (John) Armiger of Parkersburg, WV and grandkids Alisha and Dan Lass of Parkersburg, Lauren and Andy Lawrence or Raleigh, NC, Ben Casto of Lake Worth, FL, Josh, Megan, and Bennett Hurley or Parkersburg and several great grandchildren.

The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation and thanks to the diligent work performed by TLC in Home Care and Hospice Care in providing their service to Nancy during her fight with the insidious disease.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.

Please give thanks for her life by being good to one another.
