Picture This: Wading for the Work to Be Finished

Ducks swim in a nearly empty City Park pond Monday as work begins to upgrade the feature near the intersection of Park Avenue and 23rd Street. Workers will clean the muck out of the pond, install a new wall around it and replace the fountain in the middle as part of a project expected to take several weeks. In a social media post, the City of Parkersburg said the improvements are being completed to enhance the health, performance and sustainability of the pond for years to come. The city also said due to state code requirements, neither the city nor the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is permitted to relocate the fish from the pond during this process.
