Charles “Pete” Arbogast

Charles “Pete” Arbogast, 93, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 11, 2026. He was born on January 19, 1932, in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Claude Arbogast and Blanche (Tucker) Carpenter.

He worked for Shelter-Rite and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a guitarist and played with the band J.J. and Boys for many years. He was a collector of many unique things and an accomplished woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Susan (Huffman) Arbogast; four children Kathy McKinniss of Belpre, Debra Hendershot of Parkersburg, Barb Smith of Parkersburg, and Bobby Arbogast of Parkersburg; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother Joe Arbogast (Deb) of Killbuck, OH; and two sisters Viola Latimer of Hayesville, OH, and Linda Beckett of Warsaw, OH.

Services will be Friday 10:30 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Graveside services will be Friday 3:00 PM at Prairie Township Cemetery in Holmesville, OH. Visitation will be Friday 9-10:30 AM.
